<br />
Today I have a quick, easy card I put together for my sister,,,,,<br />

I have been having an affair with Stampin Up stamps lately,,,,,,and I think I've bought a dozen sets on Ebay over the past couple weeks,,,,,oy.<br />
<br />
Anyway, here's the card,,,,,,,<br />

</div>
I lovvvvvvvvvvvve my silhouette! I don't use it for every project, but I use it a LOT.<br />
<br />
I love it for guy cards, because I can cut card shapes,,,,,,or I can download an image I like and be cutting it in about 40 seconds.<br />
<br />
It doesn't get much better than that!<br />
<br />
so yesterday was my husband's 55th birthday. Happy Birthday, Jaime! Love you!<br />
<br />
and of course, that meant CARD MAKING :)<br />
<br />

<br />
I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend! Nothing fun going on here this weekend,,,,,my husband is working, so I'm working on some cards!<br />
<br />
Next weekend, however, we're going on a camping rally here in FL, and we're having a Yankee Swap,,,,,,,I have to bring something worth 20 dollars.<br />
<br />
So I decided, since I got this fabulous paper for my birthday, and I just bought some amazing Stampin Up stamps (discontinued, of course,,,,,why is it I always fall in love with Stampin Up stamps AFTER they are discontinued??), so I thought I'd make a set of cards and a matching box,,,,,,<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
My son, Nick, turned 26 years old on sunday,,,,,,we share a birthday (we won't talk about how old *I* am), and we have spent every birthday together since,,,,,,,<br />
<br />
except this past Sunday,,,,,,<br />
<br />
My husband took me on a lovely 3 day trip to disney. We stayed in a hotel (NOT the camper), Ate at Be Our Guest (this is HARD to get a reservation to!) and generally had a lovely time,,,,,,,<br />
<br />
but I didn't get to spend OUR birthday with my son,,,,,,<br />
<br />
so I had to make him an extra special birthday card,,,,,,,do you like the bees hanging off the edge? I totally swiped this design and the honey technique from Debbie Blake. You can see her amazing card <a href="http://www.pinterest.com/pin/63894888435643232/" target="_blank">HERE</a>.<br />

<br />
Just dropping off another card, this time for the<a href="http://justritestampers.typepad.com/#" target="_blank"> Justrite Friday challenge! </a><br />
<br />
This is one of my favorite challenges, because it uses my favorite brand of stamps,,,,,,and because it's always so full of amazing talent!!!!!<br />
<br />
This week's challenge is to use a spring color palette,,,,,,,,,and I've done so here, with this card for a friend of a friend suffering from cancer,,,,,,,,she needs as much springy cheer as I can possibly send!!!!<br />

<br />
his grandfather and I are taking him out to a popular, local all you can eat seafood place for his birthday this March,,,,,,,,he's been begging and begging, so that's where we're taking him,,,,,,<br />
<br />
since he LOVES lobsters, and plans on eating about a dozen of them LOL, I wanted my card to feature a lobster,,,,,,,,this is TOTALLY not my style,,,,,,but every now and again,,,,,I just love some paper piecing :)<br />

<br />
You may be happy to know, that YES, I am finally getting sick of Christmas cards,,,,,<br />
<br />
I have two to show you today,,,,,,,<br />
<br />
and at LEAST for a couple days,,,,,,I'm going to try and concentrate on fall cards LOL. For a few days. Hopefully. LOL.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdJrBNHD1s0dsTr7hkLP4tsrc4b08idsDtjCcurEylYxRqvq46cWk_-4-s0B0y8cbVot30zxVqHSzmHjTZQrwZIjkNj-IBS7CkvI048V1EEbBkZrBjrs0H_ZcVENY4wtjwLsQiXAWS7dvP/s1600/HAY+AUG+PINK+SNOWFLAKE.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdJrBNHD1s0dsTr7hkLP4tsrc4b08idsDtjCcurEylYxRqvq46cWk_-4-s0B0y8cbVot30zxVqHSzmHjTZQrwZIjkNj-IBS7CkvI048V1EEbBkZrBjrs0H_ZcVENY4wtjwLsQiXAWS7dvP/s320/HAY+AUG+PINK+SNOWFLAKE.jpg" width="260" /></a></div>
The first is this pink, gray/silver and black card,,,,,,,,I'm not sure I like it,,,,,,,,but it's definitely a striking color combo,,,,<br />
<br />
Card Recipe:<br />
<br />
Papers: Recollections<br />
Stamps: Justrite (snowman and sentiment), Inkadinkado (snowflakes)<br />
Inks: Versafine Onyx black<br />
Dies: Spellbinders classic large round, picot edge circles, and Cottage Cutz Tea time doily<br />
Embossing folder: Cuttlebug<br />
Ribbon: Really Reasonable Ribbon <br />
<br />
My second card is this Poinsettia Card,,,,,,,,,,,again, not sure I like it, but the colors (more traditional) are pretty striking,,,,,,,<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhucI1dj0J886EccvSpLs9iTkAuJ1WiAYGFRB_bFYZWyrqUvLdfnigHIAWzdbDPWkOyq63zpTC3MILmMccisay24UFaDdaviEg9gGQ_XlcKCoTtafhYjkCbXk1q338Ny4tQesC-eEcp7FV9/s1600/HAY+AUG+SNOWFLAKE+AND+POINSETTIA.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="235" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhucI1dj0J886EccvSpLs9iTkAuJ1WiAYGFRB_bFYZWyrqUvLdfnigHIAWzdbDPWkOyq63zpTC3MILmMccisay24UFaDdaviEg9gGQ_XlcKCoTtafhYjkCbXk1q338Ny4tQesC-eEcp7FV9/s320/HAY+AUG+SNOWFLAKE+AND+POINSETTIA.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
I absolutely love the focal point,,,,,,,,,it's striking. I should have used a different ink to stamp the sentiment on the DP though. Hmmmmmmmmmmm.<br />
<br />
Here's a close up of that,,,,,,,,,you can see how I should have used something else,,,,,,,,,,,live and learn, I guess,,,,,,,<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3DNbO5n4xqbVizPvAgC4KQUDruiWzHPkJguQd5dbvOxniylWvYAc-sjNrqWRCNhIbXY0XgpBHmzkkBQ1mr84TsGIC-kSi1nUYVL4sRvJNzATGuDorDeMOYPCeE4wSPsTEJcxXvBGss-ma/s1600/HAY+AUG+SNOWFLAKE+AND+POINSETTIA+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="241" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3DNbO5n4xqbVizPvAgC4KQUDruiWzHPkJguQd5dbvOxniylWvYAc-sjNrqWRCNhIbXY0XgpBHmzkkBQ1mr84TsGIC-kSi1nUYVL4sRvJNzATGuDorDeMOYPCeE4wSPsTEJcxXvBGss-ma/s320/HAY+AUG+SNOWFLAKE+AND+POINSETTIA+2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
And this last pic is a close up of the Poinsettia and focal point,,,,,,,<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPB4kFueCfSMfSefNCDZSRw2YjHmOQJyzG5vaPhZW6ywfyYhpD1i0zcZMCXo7I-QEOevOFFtvcuG8no4nEhQp5mTQwdFqqAwQmRlCGGzGvHXyQcxbiO_pdTzR2pcCytgS8z-rpuwPlMknf/s1600/HAY+AUG+SNOWFLAKE+AND+POINSETTIA+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="285" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPB4kFueCfSMfSefNCDZSRw2YjHmOQJyzG5vaPhZW6ywfyYhpD1i0zcZMCXo7I-QEOevOFFtvcuG8no4nEhQp5mTQwdFqqAwQmRlCGGzGvHXyQcxbiO_pdTzR2pcCytgS8z-rpuwPlMknf/s320/HAY+AUG+SNOWFLAKE+AND+POINSETTIA+3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
I think that poinsettia is my favorite part of the whole card,,,,,,love that die!<br />
<br />
Card Recipe:<br />
Papers: K and Company scraps<br />
dies: Spellbinders Ironwork Motifs, Parisian motifs, postage stamps, layered poinsettia<br />
Ribbon: Really Reasonable Ribbon<br />
Ink: Versafine<br />
Stamps: Justrite Nested Christmas Sentiments<br />
<br />

<br />
It's a gorgeous, hot, sunshiny day here in Central Florida,,,,,,,,,,and today, I'm showing you,,,,,,,,,,,,<br />
<br />
you guessed it! More Christmas cards LOL<br />
<br />
I am determined to get my cards done EARLY this year, so I can have some fun making some fabulous, fun gifts I've been pinning on Pinterest for days now! I have some fun ideas I can't wait to share with you,,,,,,,,,,but I want my cards done FIRST!<br />
<br />
It's been so long since I played along with the <a href="http://www.justritestampers.typepad.com/" target="_blank">Justrite Stampers challenge</a>, and so this week, I was determined to do it!<br />
<br />
The theme this week is "Things with Wings",,,,,,,,,,,,and of course, with my current Christmassy mood,,,,,,,,I had to use one of my favorite Justrite sets,,,,,,,,,an oldie but a goodie,,,,,,Backyard Birds!<br />
<br />
It was so much fun to create a gift set of a card AND an ornament to go with it,,,,,,,,I played with this image last week, creating a similar ornament, but for the challenge, I just knew I had to go one step further in the wow factor! <br />
<br />
This cardinal is just so gorgeous for Christmas cards, I couldn't resist,,,,,,,,,,,,<br />
<br />
and since Justrite stamps mix so well with each other,,,,,,,I paired it with the Justrite Merry Christmas background stamp! I just LOVE how gorgeous this stamp looks all embossed in gorgeous glittering gold! So Christmassy!!!!!!!!<br />
<br />

<br />
First,,,,,,,<br />
<br />
My very lovely, amazing daughter got married in June,,,,,,,,,<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

It was a lovely day,,,,,,,<br />
<br />
if you like hurricane like rain. For an OUTDOOR wedding. sigh. Still, we were under cover, and it was a lovely day,,,,,,,,,<br />
<br />
and of course, I had to make all the decorations, invitations, programs, etc, for her "Evening in Paris" themed special day,,,,,,<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbuj_NOeatjTqCulr4Z9gSz4th9_h0zBSCbLxNq9ZuKRk3aZiBwSrWAQaLxIM7lQ_7CADz7T7YjmrlIrlWl2pqi6nAgCx19_iTr5ZYjK4kMcorY8kKbesrKy7eGjMBcJXebQQ10aJ-uqfA/s1600/HAY+JUL+WEDDING+STUFF.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbuj_NOeatjTqCulr4Z9gSz4th9_h0zBSCbLxNq9ZuKRk3aZiBwSrWAQaLxIM7lQ_7CADz7T7YjmrlIrlWl2pqi6nAgCx19_iTr5ZYjK4kMcorY8kKbesrKy7eGjMBcJXebQQ10aJ-uqfA/s320/HAY+JUL+WEDDING+STUFF.jpg" width="244" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Then we had to spend WEEKS searching for,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,this.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhEXjc9q2Oa42Ar0eKbkms-Sz8kLOhxdY4eS9_1wPtXrStg7sEbMmYzWrYeSnWn90VbMuTLtTfnaslK548FdogbF7xyHiIBD7AlVHGaY99VXCEDLDAck0wp8qPdC3ZxatDpVm0RZ7MC9pek/s1600/HAY+CAMPER.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhEXjc9q2Oa42Ar0eKbkms-Sz8kLOhxdY4eS9_1wPtXrStg7sEbMmYzWrYeSnWn90VbMuTLtTfnaslK548FdogbF7xyHiIBD7AlVHGaY99VXCEDLDAck0wp8qPdC3ZxatDpVm0RZ7MC9pek/s320/HAY+CAMPER.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Because that lovely, amazing daughter slammed into our old pop up,,,,,,,,,,,and ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,let's just say it went to camper heaven.<br />
<br />
so then, of course, we had to try it out,,,,,,,,,,,,at Hillsborough River State Park here in Florida,,,,,,<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

AND of course, I had to spend a LITTLE time pondering WHO in their STUPIDITY would MOLEST alligators??????????? But I'm sure someone has,,,,,hence the signs,,,,,,<br />
<br />
Then I've spent the last week TRYING to get caught up on family stuff, housework, emails, Facebook, and friends who posted cards and projects online,,,,,,,,,,and I am STILL not caught up,,,,,I have a list as long as my arm to go through,,,,,,,,,<br />
<br />
But,,,,,I did manage to spend a LITTLE time this week making some cards and Christmas/Hanukkah projects (because it will be here before you know it.)<br />

<br />
Well, have I had a month! And I see it's been that long since I've been here!<br />
<br />
Not to write a novel or anything,,,,,,,,,,,but my youngest daughter has been engaged to marry her fiance now for over a year. They suddenly decided they wanted to get married BEFORE he goes into the service,,,,,,,,<br />
<br />
in June.<br />
<br />
faint.<br />
<br />
I had literally 3 months to get this thing off the ground, and I was NOTHING but busy in April. Between finding and booking a venue, dress fittings, shopping for dresses for the girls, outfits for the men, shoe shopping, making invitations (yes, I made them,,,,,,,the base was a kit, but I remade the kit), place cards, programs, and a million other things,,,,,,,,,,,,,,whew!!!!<br />
<br />
It will be lovely, however :) She's getting married at a lovely outdoor venue amidst gorgeous, huge oak trees, in an "Evening in Paris" theme. By the time it's done, I'll be ready for a vacation LOL.<br />
<br />
And, of course, I had major computer problems that didn't help. Sigh. JUST got those fixed,,,,, <br />
<br />
I'm still going crazy, but I wanted to stop by and drop off a project I've made recently,,,,,,,<br />
<br />
I have fallen in love with svgcuts.com. Their projects are just adorable,,,,,,,and so easy. Mary and Leo always provide a video that walks you through the complicated projects and makes them OH so easy!!<br />
<br />
so without further ado,,,,,,,here's my project.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxK5og-1TxR9IbZ6Xl8a59nlkglXIud57dHuj1XQhZgv7jxvSeJBdX8ELhqmfYzy9KmboSBEDkLQVLQVwEkJpqkS9DSnzvVmvP3QfzuUgEm5x6bMp7Hbj5_3BObjeBRLj9wUtJy3LQRzZN/s1600/HAY+APR+TEAPOT+AND+CUP.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="247" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxK5og-1TxR9IbZ6Xl8a59nlkglXIud57dHuj1XQhZgv7jxvSeJBdX8ELhqmfYzy9KmboSBEDkLQVLQVwEkJpqkS9DSnzvVmvP3QfzuUgEm5x6bMp7Hbj5_3BObjeBRLj9wUtJy3LQRzZN/s400/HAY+APR+TEAPOT+AND+CUP.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>

Isn't that bear just the cutest thing??????? I loved it! It's an SVG from Little Scraps of Heaven Designs! They have the CUTEST stuff, and I just couldn't resist!!!! She was standing, but she's quite poseable, and you can (with a bit of maneuvering) make her sit, stand, do splits, whatever!<br />
<br />
Too stinkin cute! I spent WAY too much money in their shop this week LOL.<br />
<br />
Here's a close up of this darling bear!<br />
<br />

<br />

<br />
I'm still having fun playing with my Silhouette,,,,,,and I haven't forgotten my beloved metal dies either,,,,,,,they really go so well together!!!!<br />
<br />
Here's a little Christmas card I made mixing the two kinds of dies,,,,,,,<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNXeZ9yvumEXMgPZlvThcfeYMA_YTTyN8JtdTY7JdSkAFEO2EwLfflUCPVFFFXPrfhBvcAaqEONLpLO0VNmxmRcvR3_2yXawK69ZnUjIuscIyQiixcIq_7YGBr4PjN707S1qdIXzRP9ghw/s1600/HAY+MAR+CHRISTMAS+FRAME.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="392" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNXeZ9yvumEXMgPZlvThcfeYMA_YTTyN8JtdTY7JdSkAFEO2EwLfflUCPVFFFXPrfhBvcAaqEONLpLO0VNmxmRcvR3_2yXawK69ZnUjIuscIyQiixcIq_7YGBr4PjN707S1qdIXzRP9ghw/s400/HAY+MAR+CHRISTMAS+FRAME.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
I tell you what, I just had the BEST time creating this card,,,,,,,so much fun!!!! The window is a file I made myself (with a little help from some friends!) I actually made 3 different window files, and you can pick them up at the bottom,,,,,,,,a picture window (or sliding glass door) pictured here,,,,,a regular window with flower box, similar to the Grand Madison Window, and a six paned door or tall window,,,,,,,<br />
<br />
The Santa, tree, lamp, and children are all Silhouette Studio files,,,,,,,,,,and the snowflakes and pine branch are metal dies,,,,<br />
<br />
It was just so much fun to make this little scene!<br />
<br />
I am DETERMINED to be ready for the holidays this year,,,,,,,so stay tuned for some Chanukah cards as well!!!!!<br />

<br />
I love silhouettes,,,,,,people,,,animals,,,,,things,,,,,<br />
<br />
I love cutting them out of dark card stock and I often cut a bunch out of black card stock and then grab them when I want a quick card,,,,,,or a quick element to add to a card,,,,,,,<br />
<br />
And NOTHING cuts silhouettes better than,,,,,,,,,,,well,,,,,,a Silhouette!!!!!<br />
<br />
Today I have two cards to share,,,,easy, quick cards!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjXXwC4rJc8wiIbTzAKjl3aaUpfr0jNmqxKk_VASCDwbqOVH4Dzi2GtSV1NOVkKS5k7G_kWOfAIrwBlhTnvblRldmIRnqlZmwEy-TvsrOLoQ5cDwMIOq9XDsqfdCKt0eH2J-vanpSb5Hoy/s1600/HAY+MAR+REINDEER+CARD.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjXXwC4rJc8wiIbTzAKjl3aaUpfr0jNmqxKk_VASCDwbqOVH4Dzi2GtSV1NOVkKS5k7G_kWOfAIrwBlhTnvblRldmIRnqlZmwEy-TvsrOLoQ5cDwMIOq9XDsqfdCKt0eH2J-vanpSb5Hoy/s400/HAY+MAR+REINDEER+CARD.jpg" width="392" /></a></div>
This first card is another Christmas card to add to my stash so I'll be ready for Christmas,,,,,,and it was OH so easy,,,,,,,,<br />
<br />
I grabbed a couple silhouettes I had cut a day or two earlier and glued and pop dotted them down! Piece of cake! To make the snowy hills, I simply drew wavy lines in Studio and edited the points! Once cut, I embossed them with a polka dot embossing folder. Easy peasy! I saved the file so I can cut them quickly,,,,,,,,,,and done up in blue paper, they'd make pretty water too!<br />
<br />
Card Recipe:<br />
Paper: MME Noel pack, Recollections<br />
Die cuts: Silhouette America onine store and my own design<br />
Ribbon: Really Reasonable Ribbon and Walmart<br />
Pearls: Recollections<br />
button: my stash<br />
<br />
This second card was a bit more involved,,,,,but oh so much fun!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQGrEHTFDNxkaZFHPelMAW_4H_PWhKFcGsgtb-e6fYJc_ctn58bmTsjX08u-XgJ5auMgcB-N85TxBWfWaUMDjR5M22JpYnwV6zOWEc4NHrTiOnUm07TWUH9kFfDAg9ERT2ynJRgXh7KaHW/s1600/HAY+MAR+DOILY+BIRD+CARD.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="377" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQGrEHTFDNxkaZFHPelMAW_4H_PWhKFcGsgtb-e6fYJc_ctn58bmTsjX08u-XgJ5auMgcB-N85TxBWfWaUMDjR5M22JpYnwV6zOWEc4NHrTiOnUm07TWUH9kFfDAg9ERT2ynJRgXh7KaHW/s400/HAY+MAR+DOILY+BIRD+CARD.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>

<br />
Mostly, I was playing around with making a studio file to share with a Dingbat font,,,,,,It turned out looking rather Oriental, so I went with it, and finished up the card with a Chinese Lantern,,,,,,<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqsE9gkWgF7heS7OjgZaf-bCNk15HfY-BIyBSw8p8Sb-KmBdEjZ9Qt696VShlWjSXq2uI-pHhEx6OSS4MyZe1t7TNMyLxl8uMyz8ONcmCiQYZjckUU_yv6k_IY13YUk9J_AZGvLIyRaQMh/s1600/HAY+MAR+CHINESE+LANTERN.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="313" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqsE9gkWgF7heS7OjgZaf-bCNk15HfY-BIyBSw8p8Sb-KmBdEjZ9Qt696VShlWjSXq2uI-pHhEx6OSS4MyZe1t7TNMyLxl8uMyz8ONcmCiQYZjckUU_yv6k_IY13YUk9J_AZGvLIyRaQMh/s320/HAY+MAR+CHINESE+LANTERN.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Card Recipe:<br />
<br />
Paper: Recollections<br />
Die Cuts: Silhouette online store (Chinese Lantern), Self made studio file (background), Silhouette for the ovals,,,,,,<br />
<br />
and that's it,,,,,,,,an easy peasy card!!!!!!<br />
<br />
I hope you enjoyed the card,,,,,,,and feel free to grab the studio file. You may use it for anything you'd like,,,,,,but please don't share,,,,,,send them here to get the file! Thanks!<br />

<br />
Hippity Hoppity Easter's on the way,,,,,,,,,,<br />
<br />
Good morning!!!!<br />
<br />
I can't believe how CLOSE Easter and Passover are coming!!!!! Before we know it, summer will be upon us!!!!!<br />
<br />
Today, I have some fun little Egg shaped totes filled with some goodies to show you,,,,,,,,I made them for my grand children,,,,,just a little something,,,,,,<br />
<br />
for obvious reasons, Easter isn't religious at our house, but my grand children are being raised in a Christian church, and so I like to give them a little something at Easter time,,,,,,<br />
<br />
And boy did I have fun this year!!! My Silhouette was HUMMING,,,,,,,,<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgLvzY0kn9U9vJf0_XBQOPXzVpY_p1a7A4Nu4zYlWY1Of8pLQMeOKb_RP-qSpXxCRd9InjmPDrisF1rEzW2AZh5GQII8f_xYh9B0BETYmaBEs-p9g_Tqx2vflTlamn4e5uKRgTF9d_DWi02/s1600/HAY+MAR+EASTER+BASKET+pic+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="256" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgLvzY0kn9U9vJf0_XBQOPXzVpY_p1a7A4Nu4zYlWY1Of8pLQMeOKb_RP-qSpXxCRd9InjmPDrisF1rEzW2AZh5GQII8f_xYh9B0BETYmaBEs-p9g_Tqx2vflTlamn4e5uKRgTF9d_DWi02/s400/HAY+MAR+EASTER+BASKET+pic+1.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
These darling totes are from the Silhouette online store, and much easier to put together than I ever thought! This machine even makes perfect score lines to aid in folding and putting them together!!!!!! A bit of hot glue and some decorating, and they're done!!!!!!<br />
<br />
Don't you just LOVE those Bunny Bums? You can get them in the Silhouette store too!!!!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXNS9fujPONO6pYUREbEGY8bOYNxaAmgGyCYajMlotCfaIITWgPE1_HdB3fTEmfYREgCB5OXWntY0Csz0Q5w8rsni6HbmU4_PjS0WL7jZEimxS6fGBQuaRsmtvpL83Xx2YgMmcXqZ1x2W_/s1600/HAY+MAR+EASTER+BASKET+pic+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="328" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXNS9fujPONO6pYUREbEGY8bOYNxaAmgGyCYajMlotCfaIITWgPE1_HdB3fTEmfYREgCB5OXWntY0Csz0Q5w8rsni6HbmU4_PjS0WL7jZEimxS6fGBQuaRsmtvpL83Xx2YgMmcXqZ1x2W_/s400/HAY+MAR+EASTER+BASKET+pic+2.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Inside each little tote is a small chocolate bunny, a chocolate carrot and some chocolate eggs! (Later I'll show you what I did with the jelly beans!) <br />
<br />
There's also a darling card made out of a Silhouette cut (I flipped and welded the base to make a card) shaped like a chocolate bunny,,,,,,,,a pretty satin bow and a googly eye, and it's easy peasy to make! Inside the card is a bit of cash for my grand babies to spend,,,,,,,<br />
<br />
Project Recipe:<br />
Cardstock: GA Pacific and REcollections<br />
Ink: Memento Summer Sky<br />
Die Cuts: Silhouette Store<br />
Ribbon: Really Reasonable Ribbon<br />
Googly Eye and chocolates: Walmart<br />
<br />
I hope you enjoyed the project today, and thanks for looking!!!!!Holly Younghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06018238975930137729noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3051551136788581995.post-87142722639384757372013-03-10T23:43:00.000-07:002013-03-10T23:43:33.749-07:00For My Sister,,,,,,,Good morning!<br />
<br />
I've had such a lovely time playing with my new Silhouette Portrait (Her name is Sophie),,,,,she cuts so amazingly clean it's,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,well, it's amazing!<br />
<br />
This week, my sister is going through hell and back,,,,,,I'm down here in Florida,,,,,,,and she's 1200 miles away in New England,,,,,,,running over for coffee isn't an option,,,,,,,,<br />
<br />
Sending a handmade card to tell her I love her and how amazing I think she is,,,,,,,,,well, it's second best :)<br />
<br />
So here's the card I made for her,,,,,,,,<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVJpiceGcffXO0kBapW4mJJbX8xrvqGLUkcbjXQucL-IoNDQxeTJCAkiqnxlbGEbH7ajArB96UWNrki_KPc9tAvzUaW1LLYFND-JMiqDxWQj31e0mSMW02QXr801c4vrqgVQUCpowk48P6/s1600/HAY+MAR+ELLEN+pic+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="352" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVJpiceGcffXO0kBapW4mJJbX8xrvqGLUkcbjXQucL-IoNDQxeTJCAkiqnxlbGEbH7ajArB96UWNrki_KPc9tAvzUaW1LLYFND-JMiqDxWQj31e0mSMW02QXr801c4vrqgVQUCpowk48P6/s400/HAY+MAR+ELLEN+pic+1.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
I can't believe how CLEAN this thing cuts!!!!!<br />
<br />
Here's a close up of those intricate cuts!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgIeFhlmcdJAUcQFoCTos3K8vbbXyFQlBT1HljdmOr4kri2CXz7NL_3p0k87lCaI8eY7a-Wvfn-_fxX_HwMBBDeXVq8A8_Y2iAG1gAcWqeFUUxFKqAXt6Q46YP5Nof38P912jbIdH2LKwUU/s1600/HAY+MAR+ELLEN+pic+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgIeFhlmcdJAUcQFoCTos3K8vbbXyFQlBT1HljdmOr4kri2CXz7NL_3p0k87lCaI8eY7a-Wvfn-_fxX_HwMBBDeXVq8A8_Y2iAG1gAcWqeFUUxFKqAXt6Q46YP5Nof38P912jbIdH2LKwUU/s400/HAY+MAR+ELLEN+pic+2.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
I think my sister is amazing,,,,,,,,,she has many health problems that are life long,,,,,,and she still goes down kicking every night! So, of course, I had to tell her,,,,,,,,,<br />

<br />
They tried to help me, but they were still having SOME problems,,,,,,,,,and of course, they just happened to affect me,,,,,,,,,,,BUT they called me back (shock!!) when the problems were fixed and walked me through how to get all my images,,,,,,,,<br />
<br />
then I had cutting problems ROFL. A bad blade was partly to blame, so a trip to Michaels brought me a new blade,,,,,,,,<br />
<br />
I do NOT like the Silhouette cutting mats,,,,,,,not not NOT,,,,,,,so a cut down Cricut mat works amazingly well,,,,,,,,<br />
<br />
and VOILA,,,,,,,perfect, amazingly beautiful, highly detailed cuts!!!!!!!!<br />
<br />
I'm in 7th heaven now that I've found my Silhouette's "sweet spot" (blade depth 3, speed 2 or 3 depending on intricacy, thickness 30),,,,,,,,<br />
<br />
and I had the best time making this sweet little spring card today!!!<br />
<br />
Hope you like it!<br />

<br />
Well, I got my Silhouette a day early today,,,,,and I was so excited to start crafting, I got right on the site, bought a subscription (for 20 dollars a month, I get 150.00 worth of downloads---what a deal!) and bought 71 images,,,,,,,,<br />
<br />
well Silhouette was doing some routine maintenance, and NOTHING would download properly,,,,,,,<br />
<br />
GAAH! LOL,,,,,,so I managed to cut some freebies offline and make a card,,,but I have 71 designs that won't work in my silhouette. They show that they are there, although there's no picture like there should be,,,,,,,but they don't work. So then I tried "recovering" them,,,,,,nope, didn't work either.<br />
<br />
Time to call Customer Service in the morning LOL. Let them deal with it :)<br />
<br />
Anywho,,,,,,,my die cuts were limited today, so I whipped together a really simple card, just so I could play. I hope you like it!<br />

<br />
Today is a WONDERFUL day!!!!!!!! My husband, who has worked 7 days a week, 12 hours a day for MONTHS, finally has a day off! We are off to Disney World to spend the day,,,,,,,,and we have reservations for dinner at one of the restaurants tonight! WOO HOO! I'm bouncing, I'm so happy!<br />
<br />
I hope you're not sick of window cards LOL. I know that the Grand Madison Window die is extremely popular for a reason, and I've used it here again! I have to say, that in googling this die to see what other people have done with it, I have especially enjoyed <a href="http://kittiekraft.typepad.com/kittiekraft/" target="_blank">Kittie's cards</a><span name="KavHltTag"> <img src="data:image/gif;base64,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" width:12px="" /> </span>. Although I did not directly copy any of her cards, her style has definitely STRONGLY inspired this card! I surely hope she doesn't mind! Pop on over (link above) and see some of her gorgeous cards and leave some love while you're at it!<br />
<br />
Here's mine!<br />

<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
You can probably tell by the shine, but I used an old spellbinders package cut to size to imitate the glass in the window,,,,,<br />

I also created little hinges for the shutters, so they pop out a bit,,,,,,,,,and of course, a bow on my bow maker! The garden fence is a die by memory box,,,,,,,I bought it some time ago, and had no clue what to do with it until I got this window die LOL<br />
<br />

Now time for some praise!<br />
<br />
I bought my Grand Calibur exactly a year ago,,,,,,I can't imagine life without it! I love it! Unfortunately,,,,,,JUST out of warranty, it died on me LOL. My kinda luck, right? Well, I didn't want to buy a new one if I could help it, so I emailed Spellbinders to see if they offered a repair service.<br />
<br />
Turns out, they do! She asked me a few questions, to which I responded honestly,,,,,,and I told her I was out of warranty on the machine and did not mind paying for repairs!<br />
<br />
She responded back that they would HONOR that warranty! My machine will be fixed for free.<br />
<br />
I have to say,,,,,,,,I was stunned. How often does a company, in the face of being honestly TOLD they are no longer responsible, CHOOSE to take responsibility?????? NEVER,,,,,,,,,except,,,,,,it has happened!<br />
<br />
Fortunately, I have my old Big Kick, which I was able to get new plates for yesterday, to hold me over until my Grand Calibur is returned to me (free of charge!).<br />
<br />
But in case you are contemplating a Grand Calibur,,,,,,,buy with confidence! You won't be sorry!<br />
<br />
I hope you enjoyed the card! Now I'm off to Disney World to enjoy the world!!!!!! Have a lovely Sunday! And thanks so much for your comments!<br />
