Have a Beary Happy Easter!!!

Good Afternoon!!!!

I have a challenge card today, using a new (to me) product! And boy did I have fun with it!!!!

Isn't that bear just the cutest thing???????  I loved it!  It's an SVG from Little Scraps of Heaven Designs!  They have the CUTEST stuff, and I just couldn't resist!!!!  She was standing, but she's quite poseable, and you can (with a bit of maneuvering) make her sit, stand, do splits, whatever!

Too stinkin cute!  I spent WAY too much money in their shop this week LOL.

Here's a close up of this darling bear!

I just had the BEST time shading her with chalks, doing the eyes and the cheeks,,,,,,,love her! And I love the bright springy colors too!!!!!!!

I'll be entering this into the Little Scraps of Heaven card sketch challenge! REally, you ought to give it a try,,,,paper piecing is easier than it looks (OK, so my first bear looked like a ninja bear because I put the eyes on wrong, but all t takes is a bit of practice LOL) and it's so much fun too!!!!

Card Recipe:

Paper: Graphic 45 Secret Garden 8x8 pack, Recollections
Die cuts: Little Scraps of Heaven Bear with Rough fur single, Spellbinders Labels 22, Die-namics Mini Royal Rolled Roses
Chalks and Inks: Pebbles, white Uniball, black artist pen .1, Versafine vintage sepia
Ribbon and lace: Really Reasonable Rbbon
button: Bazzill
Stamp: Michael's dollar bin.

Hope you love the card!  I'm so sorry I've not gotten around to any blogs this past week or two,,,,my youngest daughter is getting married in June,,,,,,,,I have three months to get this thing off the ground, and it's killing me LOL,,,,,,This week alone, we've chosen and deposited a venue for the wedding, chosen colors, invitations, flower girl dresses and today,,,,,,,,,,THE dress. Busy, busy, busy! But a fun time!

I promise I'll get around after Easter and Passover!!!!!!

May all my Christian friends have a lovely Easter,,,,,,,,,and may all my Jewish friends have an amazing Passover!!!!

Here Comes Peter Cotton Tail,,,,,,,

Hopping down the bunny trail,,,,,,,,,,,

Hippity Hoppity Easter's on the way,,,,,,,,,,

Good morning!!!!

I can't believe how CLOSE Easter and Passover are coming!!!!! Before we know it, summer will be upon us!!!!!

Today, I have some fun little Egg shaped totes filled with some goodies to show you,,,,,,,,I made them for my grand children,,,,,just a little something,,,,,,

for obvious reasons, Easter isn't religious at our house, but my grand children are being raised in a Christian church, and so I like to give them a little something at Easter time,,,,,,

And boy did I have fun this year!!! My Silhouette was HUMMING,,,,,,,,

These darling totes are from the Silhouette online store, and much easier to put together than I ever thought!  This machine even makes perfect score lines to aid in folding and putting them together!!!!!! A bit of hot glue and some decorating, and they're done!!!!!!

Don't you just LOVE those Bunny Bums?  You can get them in the Silhouette store too!!!!

Inside each little tote is a small chocolate bunny, a chocolate carrot and some chocolate eggs! (Later I'll show you what I did with the jelly beans!)

There's also a darling card made out of a Silhouette cut (I flipped and welded the base to make a card) shaped like a chocolate bunny,,,,,,,,a pretty satin bow and a googly eye, and it's easy peasy to make! Inside the card is a bit of cash for my grand babies to spend,,,,,,,

Project Recipe:
Cardstock: GA Pacific and REcollections
Ink: Memento Summer Sky
Die Cuts: Silhouette Store
Ribbon: Really Reasonable Ribbon
Googly Eye and chocolates: Walmart

I hope you enjoyed the project today, and thanks for looking!!!!!

Silhouette Card

Well, I tell you what LOL,,,,,,,it was a longgggggggggg 24 hours waiting for Silhouette to get their server up and running LOL but I have to give props to them,,,,,,,,their Customer Service is fantastic!

They tried to help me, but they were still having SOME problems,,,,,,,,,and of course, they just happened to affect me,,,,,,,,,,,BUT they called me back (shock!!) when the problems were fixed and walked me through how to get all my images,,,,,,,,

then I had cutting problems ROFL.  A bad blade was partly to blame, so a trip to Michaels brought me a new blade,,,,,,,,

I do NOT like the Silhouette cutting mats,,,,,,,not not NOT,,,,,,,so a cut down Cricut mat works amazingly well,,,,,,,,

and VOILA,,,,,,,perfect, amazingly beautiful, highly detailed cuts!!!!!!!!

I'm in 7th heaven now that I've found my Silhouette's "sweet spot" (blade depth 3, speed 2 or 3 depending on intricacy, thickness 30),,,,,,,,

and I had the best time making this sweet little spring card today!!!

Hope you like it!

Card Recipe:

Paper: Coordinations smooth card stock, GA Pacific white cardstock
Stamps: NONE NONE NONE!!!!!!!
Diecuts: Silhouette Online Store except the bunny is a trace of a digi stamp
Flowers: REcollections

I am really loving my Silhouette today,,,,,I've cut some amazingly gorgeous die cuts I can't wait to use on my cards!

Thanks for looking, and I hope you have a lovely weekend!

Curiouser and curiouser

So last night at work, I made these two cards. The second one I made for my mother-in-law. She lost her husband about a year and a half ago, and I've been popping her cards ever since,,,,,,I worry about her. The first will probably go into the sell pile,,,,,,,,,

the funny part? I didn't realize until they were both done, that I made them using the SAME EXACT two papers,,,,,,,and I was amazed that I pretty much got two different looks. The first one I used a LaBlanche stamp on. I love LaBlanche stamps, but they did take some getting used to. A couple of tricks for really good stamping with LaBlanche,,,,,,,,use GOOD ink,,,,,I like either Versafine onyx black or Memento Tuxedo black,,,,,,Versafine beats out Memento just a teensie bit, but I have more colors of the Memento,,,,,,but when I want a nice, deep, dark, crisp stamp,,,,,,I pick up my versafine. (It was a bit too juicy when I bought it, so I had to sop up some of the ink with a paper towel, but now we are getting along just fine!)

The papers I used on both cards is K and Company botanical. GORGEOUS paper,,,,,,love it. I stamped the Lablanche bunny stamp on water color paper so that I could use my water color pencils without warping,,,,,,,another trick for stamping and water coloring with LaBlanche (or any stamp). Watercolor paper is FANTASTIC for this! Nice and heavy too! The butterfly is a punch by Martha Stewart,,,,,,,,large monarch butterfly punch, and I've used it a TON in just the two weeks since I bought it. Flower is recollections that I tipped a bit with purple water colors. The Nesties are Labels 4.

I like the bunny card,,,,,,,,but it looks a little "Easterish" to me,,,,,,

which is why I surprised myself when I made the second card for my Mother in law,,,,,

it doesn't look the LEAST Easterish to me,,,,,,,must be the bunny. Hm.

anyway, on that card I used the daisy fan deep edge punch by Martha Stewart and then embossed with the Textile embossing folder,,,,,the ribbon treatment is easy once you practice a bit,,,,,simply run a line of good adhesive and fold over and over again, keeping the folds to roughly the same size, sticking down as you go,,,,,,simple!

I layered my favorite black 3/8 inch velvet ribbon over the ribbon treatment,,,,,and then layered a string of pearls on top,,,,,,,finished off with some Recollections pearls and gems,,,,and a stick pin which, IMHO, is one of the biggest bang for your ELCHEAPO buck there is out there,,,,,and voila,,,,,,,easy, simple card,,,,,,I hope my Mother in law likes it,,,,it's being mailed in a clear box because it's simply too bulky for a regular envelope or a clear envelope.

Hope you enjoyed!
