I love CHALLENGES!!

Good Morning!!  I love challenges,,don't you? They are fun, you might win a prize, AND they often push you to make something you wouldn't ordinarily,,,,,

sometimes what you make turns out to be a new favorite!!  As it was with this card I made today!

Here's my card!!!

This card just turned into something that I just LOVE. I don't know why! I think it's because I totally LOVE shabby chic,,,,,,,,and I'm not that great at the style,,,,,but this is probably the best shabby chic card I've ever done,,,,,,YAY!

Here's a close up of those gorgeous stamps, and that stunning doily die cuts and I'm VERY happy with how nicely my flowers came out!

AND yet another close up from a different angle!

I'll be entering this into the following challenges,,,,,,,

The Shabby Tea Room Again!!!

Well, practice makes perfect, so here I am, yet again, trying a bit of shabby crafting :)

I so love the look :)

This week over at the Shabby Tea Room they have another challenge for us,,,,,"Sweet Summertime".  Here's the inspiration photo. We are to be inspired by the colors,,,,

They also want us to include a flower or flowers,,,,,,,,,and include a stamped element!

So here's my entry!

I cut out this fabulous image with Romantic Rectangles, and used an "itty bitty Unity stamp" to "post mark" the stamp in the upper right hand corner,,,,,,some pearls, lace and hand dyed seam binding, as well as several hand made roses and a hand made apple blossom pull the colors all together.  Paper is Prima Meadow Lark,,,,,,absolutely PERFECT for this challenge,,,,I love it!

Here's a close up of this gorgeous image (from free vintage digi stamps, button to the right)

I just love this image, and I pulled it into Pic Monkey and added the sentiment "For the Dearest of Friends",,,,and tomorrow, it will be in the mailbox headed to "the Dearest of Friends"

I hope you enjoy your week,,,,,,,,,my Party Time Tuesdays blog post will be up tomorrow, and it's ANYTHING GOES week!!!!!!

Thanks for looking!

Good Morning!

I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend so far :)  My husband and I are planning to go to the movies tonight, which almost NEVER happens, so I am looking forward to that,,,,

But I had a bit of time to craft this morning and decided to play along with the shabby girls at the Shabby Tea Room.

Challenge number 124 is "Oh so pretty in pink",,,,,,,and I couldn't resist! Now for some reason, SHABBY is a tough one for me,,,,I love it so, but just do not seem to have much talent for it. Ah well, practice makes perfect!

Here's the inspiration photo,,,,,,

so cool and refreshing looking after the heat most of the country has been having lately!

They also want us to have a flower on our card,,,,,,,,,,well, I love pink and I love flowers,,,,,so I had a lot of fun!

I got the image at Free Vintage Digi Stamps (button to the right) some time ago,,,,,,and I just KNEW it was perfect for this challenge!  I made the roses from Spellbinders spiral blossom 1 out of coffee filters that I had inked.  The cherry blossom was made with Spellbinders Rose Creations die out of coffee filters, inked, scrunched, dried and stamens added.  The leaves were Spellbinders Foliage, inked pink, and I added some pearls to the Recollections corner bling element to tie in with the pearls added along the lace and pink velvet ribbon. The butterfly bow was created on a wooden bow maker,,,,,,,,,easy peasy!

Here's a close up!

I hope you enjoyed the card!! And thanks for looking!

The Shabby Tea Room,,,,

I'm not sure SHABBY is really my forte LOL. But, the Shabby Tea Room is having a color challenge. Additionally, they want to see pennants, banners or flags on cards. Since I came across these papers with the colors (pink, aqua, red) in my Prima papers, I decided to give it a shot. It's a style I love,,,,,,,,and I suppose I just need more practice, LOL, but I never seem to quite get the shabbiness I want.

Anywho, it was fun to play!

Here's my card,,,,,,,,

I hand cut the pennants out of 2 inch wide paper, simply marking the center and cutting out a point. I used my brand new Grand labels 23 nesties to make a shaped card, layering on the Madeline Prima paper. I made the two roses out of spellbinders spiral blooms 1 and nested those in the two largest petals of the Rose Creations dies. I tipped here and there with pink crackle paint on the roses and also the papers and added a red and white checked border to the tops of the banners and red and white checked bows to the corners,,,,,,,a few buttons, some aqua netting and she's done!

I hope you enjoyed the card, as bad as it is LOL. And I hope it gives everyone everywhere who is bad at ANY style some hope!

Practice makes perfect!!!!!!
