Justrite Stamps and a Sketch!

Hello!  I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend. I had SO much to do this weekend,,,,,,and I did none of it LOL.  I just happened to glance at the JustRite Stamps challenge for this week and fall in love with the sketch! Of course, I just had to join in!

I wanted a winter card (because SUPPOSEDLY we are still in winter,,,,even if my thermometer says 84 degrees), but I didn't want Christmassy,,,,,,so here's what I came up with!

First I cut and embossed the bottom of my white 5x7 card base with a spellbinders Edgabilities.  Then I embossed my card stock base with a snowflake embossing folder.  I cut a 2010 snowflake pendant out of my base and then off set another die cut onto the negative and backed the negative with more winter blue paper. I used winter blue and white banners on the left, and Justrite Stamps for the center of my snow flake and the lower right for my sentiment.  Finally, I cut and embossed a strip of white cardstock with the same edgabilities and the same embossing folder and placed it across the top of my card. A bow, some blue dew drops and a hint of sparkle, and she's done!

You can click on the pictures to better see the detail.

Here's a close up of my snowflake and those gorgeous Justrite Stamps.

Card Recipe:

Cardstock: white: Walmart white 110 lb card stock  PP: scraps
Stamps: Justrite "Just the right words" set
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black
Dies: Spellbinders 2010 Snowflake Pendant, Circles Large, Picot Edge Circles, Classic Petal Edgabilities, Resplendent Rectangles
Embossing folder: Tim Holtz
Glitter: Martha Stewart
Dew Drops: Robin's Nest

I hope you enjoyed the card, and I hope you run over to Justrite and join the fun!  Thanks for looking, and your comments are more appreciated than you know!

Thanks and Get Wells,,,,,,,,and a big disappointment,,,,,,,

Good Morning!  I hope everyone has been watching the RNC and the DNC,,,,voting is an amazing right. So let's do it!

This morning I have two cards to share,,,,,,,,the first is a thank you to the Cuban American friends we spent a lovely day with last week,,,,,,,they sent us home with a lovely bottle of wine, and we wanted to send a thank you card,,,,,,,it probably would have gone out sooner, but I've been busy working on the album for his mother,,,,,

The rolled roses are felt,,,,,I cut them myself free hand, easy peasy, and just rolled them up and glued with a glue gun,,,,,,,,the paper is MME Lost and Found Two Blush collection,,,,,,Oooo la la, I love this paper! I also used my FAV new stamp set, Just the Right Words set by Justrite to create my sentiment, which I then matted with circles large and picot edge circles.

My next card explains the big disappointment,,,,,,,,,,it's a get well card made for Jose,,,,,,the man whose mother is becoming an American Citizen today,,,,,,,,,,he had an emergency appendectomy yesterday morning and won't be able to go to the ceremony for his mother. I can only imagine how he feels. My husband called home and asked me to make a get well card for him, and of course, I did,,,,,,,,,,,and I feel so badly for him.

Now guy cards are tough for me,,,,,,,but I did my best.  I used MME Lost and Found Two Sunshine deck, and went with a color scheme of gold and black,,,,,,,,,with a bit of off white. Labels 14, some shiny gold ribbon, some leaves inked thhrough the die, and a fancy gold corner piece, and she's done.

I hope you enjoyed the cards, and thanks for looking!

Good Morning!

I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend so far :)  My husband and I are planning to go to the movies tonight, which almost NEVER happens, so I am looking forward to that,,,,

But I had a bit of time to craft this morning and decided to play along with the shabby girls at the Shabby Tea Room.

Challenge number 124 is "Oh so pretty in pink",,,,,,,and I couldn't resist! Now for some reason, SHABBY is a tough one for me,,,,I love it so, but just do not seem to have much talent for it. Ah well, practice makes perfect!

Here's the inspiration photo,,,,,,

so cool and refreshing looking after the heat most of the country has been having lately!

They also want us to have a flower on our card,,,,,,,,,,well, I love pink and I love flowers,,,,,so I had a lot of fun!

I got the image at Free Vintage Digi Stamps (button to the right) some time ago,,,,,,and I just KNEW it was perfect for this challenge!  I made the roses from Spellbinders spiral blossom 1 out of coffee filters that I had inked.  The cherry blossom was made with Spellbinders Rose Creations die out of coffee filters, inked, scrunched, dried and stamens added.  The leaves were Spellbinders Foliage, inked pink, and I added some pearls to the Recollections corner bling element to tie in with the pearls added along the lace and pink velvet ribbon. The butterfly bow was created on a wooden bow maker,,,,,,,,,easy peasy!

Here's a close up!

I hope you enjoyed the card!! And thanks for looking!

So, I am back :)  After being ill with a spider bite for weeks (I felt better after a week or so, but dragged for another week) and then having a nasty computer virus that infected all our computers (Via email, we are supposing), I am finally back with my Party Time Tuesdays card!!!!

I colored the stamp with prismacolors and baby oil, and cut it out with circles large,,,,,,,I then matted it with eyelet circles,,,,,,,,I used a punch for the borders and spellbinders Foliage for the leaves,,a few buttons and a sun flower, some gorgeous lace from Martha Pineda and she's all done!!! My sentiment stamp was a 1.00 bin buy at Michaels, and it says Dream Big!

Here's a close up of this adorable stamp from The Paper Shelter!

Sugar Creek Hollow Saturday!!!!

Good Saturday morning! We have a PHENOMENAL challenge for you today over at Sugar Creek Hollow!

CIRCLES!!!!!!!!

We want to see circles ON your card or project,,,,,,,,,and/or the card SHAPE must be a circle!!!!

I had SO MUCH FUN with this project! It was one of those things that just grew and grew as I worked on it!!!!! And I have a TON of pics for this, so here we go!

I created a pretty glass canister for bath salts by reusing a Prima flower jar.

Here's my project!

I used Spellbinders circles large and spellbinders picot edge circles to create the circle behind which I glued lace before setting it on top of the glass jar and securing with pop dots. As you can see, I also created a matching tag for whatever gift giving occasion I eventually use this for!

Here's some more pictures!

I got this stunning image from Bumble Button, added a bow of gold ribbon, gold netting and some pearls,,,,,

Another gold netting bow tied around the neck of the jar, a prima flower and leaf,,,,,,

And then filled the jar with pretty pink bath salts for pennies!

I printed an additional image larger, and cut the front label from that with rectangles large.

Pretty, inexpensive, and will be beautiful in someone's bathroom!

I hope you enjoyed my circles project,,,,,,and thanks for looking! Run right over to SCH and load up your vintage, shabby chic, or primitive circles project!! And be sure to stop by Bumble Button and see all the gorgeous images they have FOR FREE!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!!!

Well, it's Father's Day over at SUGAR CREEK HOLLOW!!! This week we want to see your father's day cards and crafts!!! Please remember that they must follow the SCH guidelines of "vintage, shabby chic, or primitive".

I'm going to try and keep a long story on the short side here, LOL,,but it's hard for me to show this card without telling the story,,,,,

I lost my father nearly 20 years ago. I loved him more than he could possibly imagine. He was an amazing father,,,,,,

mostly because he WASN'T my father,,,,,,,at least not my biological father. He was my step-father and he married my mother when I was 5 years old. You'd never know it,,unless you KNEW it. From the first day he married my mother, he was DAD. And that was that,,,,,,,,,My mother and he later had 2 more children,,,,,,but my sister and I were always every bit as much his as they were.

He wasn't perfect,,,,,,,,,but even in his imperfections,,,,he was amazing. He had a drinking problem,,,,,,for years. He was never mean, or nasty,,,,,,,,,,but he ruined many family holidays falling asleep over the thanksgiving turkey.

When I was about 15, he went and got sober,,,,,,,,and although I know it was a great effort for him, he never drank again. Someone who realizes what's wrong about himself and goes and CHANGES it is someone I can love and respect.

And so Dad,,,,,,,I love you and miss you so much.

And every year when I make a Father's Day card for my husband,,,,,,,,,I wish I could make him one.

So this year, I just gave into the temptation, and made my father a Father's Day card,,,,,,,,

It's simple,,,,,,like he was. He was a man of few words, but much love.

So without further ado,,,,,,,,,my card for my Daddy.

And the inside that says all I wanted to say,,,,,,,,,,,or wished I could say,,,,,,,,,

Happy Father's Day, Daddy,,,,,,,,,you were an amazing father and an amazing human being.

Thank you all for looking, and  I hope you liked the card,,,,,,,,,so run right over to SCH and upload YOUR Father's Day project or card!!!!!

PTT 65!!

Good Morning!!!!!!! It's Tuesday, one of my favorite days of the week, because I get to see all your gorgeous projects! Today, over at Party Time Tuesdays we have our ANYTHING GOES challenge. BUT we have a small twist this week,,,,,,,,,,,the challenge THIS week is ANYTHING GOES WITH KRAFT paper!

Thanks to our wonderful sponsors, our month long sponsor, Bugaboo Stamps, and our weekly sponsors Kraft Outlet, who provided us with some lovely kraft paper, and other goodies to make our cards with, and Crafty Sentiments, whom we have had the pleasure of having yet again at Party Time Tuesdays! Thank you so much to all our generous sponsors!

This week, the Party Planners are honoring one of our own, Party Planner Jen Skull with a card. I hope she enjoys the card I made for her!

And here it is!

I twisted this card a bit and used the sentiment on the OUTSIDE and the main image on the INSIDE,,,,,

Isn't that library card holder just the cutest thing??? It was supplied by our sponsor this week, Kraft Outlet. I colored the Bugaboo image with copics, cut it out with circles large and popped it up on the library card holder with pop dots, adding a sheer bow.

I decided to make the library card into a little mini book for Jen! So I cut it with Romantic Rectangles for the cover of the mini, and then cut the other kraft and cream papers given to us by Kraft outlet for the inner  pages, which I filled with upbeat and inspirational quotes! It slips right inside the library card holder inside the card for mailing.

Here is the mini, fanned so you can see how I put it together,,,,,,,,

I do hope you enjoyed this little card, and thanks for looking,,,,,,,,run right over to PTT and upload your Anything Goes with Kraft paper project! Just one note, however, it's pretty impossible for the Party Planners to comment on the number of entries we receive during our Anything Goes challenge every month,,,so as much as we love them (and we do love them!), it's just impossible,,,,,,,,,,we hope you understand! Please know we love looking at them!!!!!!!!!

So without further ado, here is my darling card made with Bugaboo stamps! Isn't she just DARLING??

I am just LOVING this card,,,I have no idea who I am going to give it to, so I left it without a sentiment at this time, but I can always add one later.

She is so precious!

I colored her with copics, and cut her out with Circles large, then matted her with picot edge circles. Behind that, I cut a green piece of paper from my scrap pile with Romantic Rectangles, sprayed a white heart doily pink, a few flowers, a lace bow and a couple pearls, and such a sweet card for next to no effort!

Here's a close up of this darling stamp from Bugaboo,,,,,,

Just a Card!

Oh boy, have I had a busy week! A couple weeks ago, DH and I bought a camper, the pop up kind. Used,,,,,,,,,and in fantastic shape. Of course, once you start PUPping, it's a disease,,,,,,,,ask anyone who does LOL. We HAD TO HAVE a larger tow vehicle. Yep, as soon as we bought it, we realized the minivan would have a tough time towing it with a full van of people and several hundred (if not a thousand) pounds of gear inside. Since DH needed a new car anyway, out we went to buy a pick up truck with an extended cab for him.

If I live to be 200, I will NEVER understand men! He did nothing but talk about, look at, google pick up trucks for a week!!!!!!

What did he buy?????????? A FORD EXPEDITION!

Maybe that's not so far off,,,,,it IS made on a Ford F150 (truck) frame. All I know is the man LOVES his new truck LOL, so I guess that's all that matters! We'll see how much he likes it as the gas prices increase LOL.

So, anyhow, I've been busy this week looking for and buying DH's new truck,,and buying things (mostly storage) for the camper,,,,,,,,,storage for dry foods, storage for clothing when we're camping and storage for a cooking kit (pots, pans, dishes, etc),,,,,,,,,,and storage for a home made first aid kit (I want to include items for the removal and treatment of jellyfish stings that do not come in most first aid kids, as we will be camping at the beach at least several times a season).

to say the least,,,,,,,,I've had little crafting time this week! But I did manage to throw together this card,,,,,,

From bottom to top, the nesties used to create this focal point are:

Labels 23 Grand
picot edge circles
Iron work motifs
Parisian motifs
Circles Large

The stamp in the center is Justrite, and I've fancied it up with a small bling flourish, some stick pins, and a bow made from navy blue sheer ribbon topped with white seam binding.

I hope you like the card, and thanks for looking! Tomorrow night, I am sleeping in the camper with my grand children for a  "Camp Backyard" experience! It should be fun for them,,,,,,and useful for us to provide practice on setting it up and breaking it down!

Have a lovely weekend! My Sugar Creek Hollow post will be tomorrow morning!

YAY! one of my favorite days of the week! it's Sugar Creek Hollow Saturday! And SCH has an amazing challenge for you this week,,,,,one of my FAVORITE things,,,,,,FLORAL!!!! We want to see flowers! Lots and lots of FLOWERS!

So of COURSE I had to use my lovely new paper, Graphic 45 Little Darlings, to make a tiny little notelet card,,,,it's 4x4, and perfect for an enclosure card or a tag on a bag!

I just love love LOVE it,,,,,the flowers are all prima and so is the flourish of pearls and gems. I added some leaves made with my Grand Calibur,,,,a few extra pearls, and she's done!  I used the following dies to make this little card.

Labels 1
Eyelet Circles
Circles Large
Floral

Here's a close up of this darling little face that I cut out of the Little Darlings paper!

I hope you enjoyed the card, thanks for looking, and I so appreciate every one of your comments!

Home Sick Cards,,,,,

Good Afternoon,,,,,it's Sunday,,,,,,,,and I'm homesick.

Yep. Badly too.

Sunday was the day our whole family got together for dinner,,,,if there was a birthday, that's when it was celebrated. Everyone would bring something,,,,,on a rotating basis,,,,,,main dinner, side dishes, deserts, drinks, whatever,,,,,,we rotated. And we all met at my sister's house (hers was largest) and had dinner.

Ten years ago, My husband and I moved ourselves and our 3 children to Florida. The housing in Massachusetts where we lived was astronomically expensive IF you could find it. We searched for months after the owner of the house we were renting sold it. Couldn't find a bleeping house, townhouse, apartment or mobile home. There was a serious shortage of housing. My husband's boss asked his wife (a real estate agent) to look,,,,,,MY boss who owned a ton of rental housing looked. NOTHING.

So we moved,,,,,,,,what could be more fun than living in Florida? Close to the beaches, close to Disney World,,,,,,,we moved and we LOVE it.

I couldn't get my husband to move back for anything, even though the housing has improved.

Nope, we love love LOVE living in Florida.

But I miss my family and my friends like no one's business. Oh my mom comes down usually once a year for 2 or 3 weeks, and I love having her. Last time she brought my baby sister and her new son down, which was really nice. I've been home once or twice.

But I haven't seen everyone TOGETHER in ten years.

I miss my sisters, I miss my brother, I miss my nieces and nephews,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

I just miss them. Enough to cry. It's not all bad,,,,,,,,all my children and grandchildren live here in Florida,,,,,,and I see my mom at least once a year. And the beach and Disney are as wonderful as we thought.

But I want to go home. Badly. At least for 2 weeks.

so we're planning that :) And I couldn't be happier.

Anyway, after that book you are probably wondering what on EARTH was the point of,,,,,,

I had to make cards for my family,,,,,,,,and I am thinking of them as "homesick cards". Because I am. Homesick, that is.

I used my new paper, Echo Park. The two red ones are Echo Park This and That "Graceful", and the yellow and green one is Echo Park This and That "Charming". Each one was made special for the recipient,,,,

Top, red pink and blue is for my Mother.

bottom left, for my sister, Ellen,,,,,,,and bottom right, for my sister, Amy.

Brother's and friends to follow another day.

I used quite a few nesties,,,,,,,but one of my fav new ones that I used on all 3 of them is Spellbinders Picot Edge circles. REally lovely,,,,,,they can be very feminine,,,,,or not. Love them.

Other nesties used:

lacy ovals
postage stamps
moroccan motifs
circles large
Ironwork Motifs.
Labels 23 Grand
and of course, Picot Edge circles

I didn't embellish too much more than the nesties shapes and a ribbon or bow,,,,the paper is so gorgeous. I added a couple stick pins and called them done!

Thanks for looking,,,,,,I hope you enjoyed the cards! And I hope you don't have reason to be homesick too often!!!!

HMFMC113

Good afternoon everyone! I hope you have more interesting plans than I have this afternoon,,,,,after a busy and lazy weekend, my house is about destroyed,,,,,,I am putting off cleaning it as we speak LOL. But as soon as I'm done posting this card, off to the kitchen I go to load the dishwasher,,,,,,,,maybe if I hurry, I can get in some more crafting today!

Ever feel bored with the usual stuff you do and just want a little change???? Yep, that's me right now,,,,,so the House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge number 113 this 2 week stretch is "Make wishes come true!" It can take many forms from wishing well to wishing on a star to wishing someone feel better,,,,,,however you interpret it! I love my HMF stamps, and don't use them nearly enough,,,,,,,so I decided it was time to change that!

And so I've done my "get well soon" card for a friend who is in the hospital this week,,,,,,

The paper is scraps,,,,,,,The paper company, MME and Tim Holtz Advantus,,,,,,,I've used "Mouse Drops" stamp here and colored them with copics,,,,,aren't they just adorable? I love this stamp because it's SO easy and quick to color!

I've cut them out with circles large,,,,,layered that on top of Parisian Motifs and then layered the whole over postage stamps,,,,,,,,

my flowers were made from the small and medium elements of the Parisian motifs, simply shaped with a stylus and the layers popped up on dots and a pretty button glued in the center of each,,,,,,easy as pie. I made the leaves out of brown card stock and cut with the spellbinders foliage dies.  A brown butterfly bow, a stick pin, a free online sentiment and a tiny gold heart and she's finished!

Here's a close up of the Mouses!

Thanks for looking and I hope you enjoyed the card!
