Sugar Creek Hollow!!!!!!

Good Morning!!!! I am so hoping you will join us this week for the Sugar Creek Hollow challenge, because I am so excited about it,,,,,,

one of my favorite types of cards, that frankly, I do not make often enough!

This week's challenge is,,,,,,,,,,

FANCY FOLDS!!!!!!!!!

Please make a card that is NOT the ordinary one side or top fold card! Come on, fancy it up a bit! You're that talented, and we know it!

Here's mine!

I made this card for a friend whom I love very much, and miss very much back home in Massachusetts. As you can see, it's an easel card, so easy to make, yet so fancy and pretty!

I cut the base of the card with Grand Labels 23 as well as the image out of the DCWV paper,,,,then I added an Inkadinkadoo stamp that said exactly what I wanted to say to my friend!

the larger roses are handmade with  spellbinders dies and the smaller roses are made with MFT rolled mini roses dies. I glued a button behind the roses to stop the front from sliding into the roses.

such an easy card! And I hope my friend likes it!

Thanks for looking,,,,,,,,,now get to it, because we KNOW how talented our friends are! Upload your Fancy Fold card to SCH and you might win a prize!!!!!!

Pearls and lace!!!!

Two of my favorite things to put on cards! So who can blame me for wanting to play along with Addicted To Stamps with their PEARLS AND LACE CHALLENGE Here!

Additionally, I'd like to enter into the Midnight Madness sketch challenge HERE!

I flipped the sketch and went a little wild with it, but I SO LOVE HOUSE MOUSE and that's the prize this week! I was having a blast! so go on over to those challenges and check them out! You still have a bit of time left!

I've used one of my brand new House Mouse Stamps "Light as a Feather" to make this darling Get Well card for my daughter's future Mother In Law who is sick in the hospital. DCWV's Preppy Princess Stack provided the gorgeous pinks and greens,,,,,,a stick pin (pearls, OF COURSE) my image colored in copics, a bow, some branch punches a prima flower, and of course,,,pearls and lace! I've computer generated my custom sentiment and cut it out with my Happy Everything Tag Making kit from Just Rite.

I hope you enjoyed the card, and thanks for looking!!!!!

The Saddest kind of card,,,,,

I think my least favorite card is the sympathy card. I love to give them because I want to let the recipient know my thoughts and prayers are with them. But I think they're just so sad to have to give, that I get no true pleasure from making them.

That said,,,,they are a necessity,,,,,,,,unfortunately. In life, there comes death,,,to everything there is a season,,,,and so occasionally, I must make one.

This particular card is for a lovely on-line friend (fake friends we always joke!) Unfortunately, her dear brother passed away recently. When I heard the news, of course, I started a sympathy card. I knew she was sitting shiva (the Jewish tradition of 7 days--sometimes 3, depending on the movement of Judaism--formal mourning in which loved ones come to call on the mourners.) and I wished so badly that I could be there for her in person.

I used DCWV paper (The Main street Stack) for this 5.5x5.5 card.I put one paper on the top portion, and another paper on the bottom portion. I used an EK success edge punch to punch the bottom of the top portion and lined above that with lace. A few nesties to cut out the sentiment, a stick pin, fancy gold corner embellishments, and some flowers, and it's done. Easy,,,,but not on the heart.

I hope you enjoyed, thanks for looking, and I sincerely hope that I have a happier card for you tomorrow!

Have a MICE week!!!!!!!!

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend so far,,,,,tomorrow is my 28th wedding anniversary, and so my DH, Jaime, and I are going to Disney World for a few days,,,,,,we're staying at the Port Orleans Riverside, and we LOVE that hotel!!!!! Even if we COULD afford something far more luxurious, we wouldn't LOL,,,,,,,,it's the atomosphere we love! Pray for good weather, please, it's supposed to rain quite a bit. We go to Disney World all the time, but it would be nice to have nice weather for our anniversary!!!!

Today I have two cards to show you. I got three sets of house mouse stamps (along with some new copic refills) in the mail the other day, and I have been playing with them! I love them! Just too adorable!

These cards are made with the smallest of the stamps,,,,,,,,,I was playing and wanted to practice coloring fur (easier than you'd think with these stamps!), and so I had a bunch of colored ones, and decided to put together a few simple cards so as not to waste them.

Mostly, I used the Preppy Princess stack,,,,,,,scraps, mostly, and they are FAR more clean and simple than I usually make,,,,,,but they were so darned cute, I couldn't resist just using some pretty paper and letting the stamps shine. The GORGEOUS stick pins are from my friend Glenda,,,,,,,THANK YOU GLENDA! I love them, as you can see!

I hope you enjoyed, and I'll see you in a few days! Have an awesome week!

Pretty In Pink!

Hi everyone! Today I have a quick and simple card that gives (I think) a pretty big bang for your buck!

the image was free, and it's absolutely stunning,,,,,,,all precolored, I didn't even have to break a sweat to make this card!

5.5x5.5, and I used the Preppy Princess stack fromo DCWV for the various papers on this layered card. No coloring, no inking,,,,,,,,,,,easy peasy! some paper, dimensionals, a few pearls and bling and a classic oval nesty and the card is done.

But unmistakably, the shining star of this card is this gorgeous FREE rose wreath! Simply STUNNING. It was given away so generously by Nettie Baker at http://www.thequiltshow.com/bb3/viewtopic.php?f=124&t=4777. I believe it's intended for printing on fabric for quilts, but when she gave it away over at sb.com, she (rightly) thought that card makers would love it!

So generous! So go on over to the Quilt Show and get your free rose wreath!

Thanks for looking! Oh and btw, that pink ribbon is made from the same ribbon that I'm giving away! Hope you enjoyed the card :)

COPIC FUN!!!!!!

I promise! We'll get back to other cards that aren't all copics soon! I am just having so much fun with my copics! I ordered 25 more this past week, and I am enjoying them sooooooooo much!!!!!!!

These ADORABLE images are FREEBIES from the very talented author of this blog http://sliekje.blogspot.com/

She's amazing, and her free digis are available to all card makers! I am really enjoying the free digi stamps that I'm finding on the internet,,,,,,

My two blue cards were done with Me and My Big Ideas baby boy stack,,,,,,,it's darling,,,,,,,and not over run with cars and trucks! simply beautiful paper that I've used for many other things BESIDES welcome baby cards.

My daughter's future sister in law is quite sick in the hospital,,,,,,,,so we've done this little blue card with a mouse hanging off the stars,,,,,,I've done the HANG IN THERE,,,FEEL BETTER sentiment on the computer,,,,,,,,,,,and then cut it with my Happy Everything Kit,,,,the bow is hand dyed seam binding and of course,,,,colored with my copics. He's cut out with the Lacey Ovals nesties,,,,,,,,and he's SO DARNED CUTE!

Then I've done a WELCOME BABY card for a baby boy for my stash,,,,,,,,isn't he cute?? I don't think the image was MEANT for a welcome baby image, but he's so cute and so versitile, I used him that way. He's done with copics and cut out with the postage stamp nesties!

My last card, the pink and green hamster with the cupcakes is also another image from that site,,,,,,,,,,and boy is he cute! I've done him for a birthday card for my stash,,,,,,,,and the sentiment is done with my Happy Everything tag kit. The paper on this one is the absolutely GORGEOUS DCWV French Country paper,,,,,,,I'm still drooling over it, and have used it probably too much LOL. lacey ovals here again (I really love those!)

Thanks for looking, and have a wonderful weekend!

Spellbinders Pendants

Thank you all for all your payers, but my dear friend, Betty, went to Heaven this past Saturday night. I will miss her more than she would ever know. I have many many good memories, and I cherish them.

I wanted to apologize for taking so long to come back and post,,,I was grieving, and really didn't feel much like talking.

But I am happy to be back with another card to share. This card is for Betty's daughter (whom I hope to meet soon). I just love how elegant the spellbinders pendant centers look here. I love the pendants, even if they ARE a pain to get out of the die :) Here, I've used only the centers, which are simple to get out of the die. Paper is DCWV, dark brown flourishes. So pretty! I couldn't help using a string of pearls to add to the elegance :) I also cut up a bling flourish and strung the parts across the card. A tiny prima nd some sticky pearls and bling add the finishing touches. Easy peasy!

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for looking!!!

Easy Peasy Quick and Easy

I just love quick and easy cards,,,,,especially when you need a card quickly for a birthday party in less than an hour :) and you STILL have to shower and wash your hair!

One of the ways that I love to make a card extra special and really quick is to use diecuts,,,,either ones I cut myself,,,,,or ones you buy in a pack. I am showing you both kinds today,,,,,,,

The cake card was made using the DCWV Sweet stack, and had a paper with an adorable cake,,,,,I simply used my nesties classic ovals to cut it out, pop dotted it on the background paper and surrounded it with a string of pearls,,,,,,,a quick bow and FINIS.

The other two cards have die cuts by K and company, spring blossom collection,,,,,so pretty, so sparkly, and they really make a card,,,,,You don't have to add much more to make the card really gorgeous. I made a window, put the diecut on the inside of the card and made a few easy flowers, courtesy of my Spellbinders Create a Rose dies, added pearls and a bow,,,,,,,,and I'm done!!!!

so easy, and really pretty!!! and for less than 4 bucks for about 40 or 50 of the diecuts, pretty cheap too! Or I can cut them out of paper or on my cricut! What could be easier?

thanks for looking,,,,hope you enjoyed!

Baby Card,,,,,,,,and a lovely compliment!

Today I have a baby card to share. EVERYONE is having babies LOL. My neighbor down the road had a baby girl, so I put together this RIDICULOUSLY simple card together. Paper is DCWV baby girl paper, stamps are a sheet called SPECIAL DELIVERY and I used that stamp for the front. Gems are dollar bin and ribbon is basic basic from Michaels.

My favorite part of this card is the inside. My Special Delivery stamps included both hand and feet print stamps,,,,,,,and it struck me that one of the very special deliveries you receive when you receive a baby,,,,,,,,is hand prints,,,,,,on EVERYTHING, So that's how I did the inside of the card. I left just enough space in the center to sign it. I am thinking it might have been even cuter with pink ink. Hm,,,,,,I need pink ink LOL.

I also received a LOVELY compliment from one of my dear friends who asked how much I would charge to make her some of my snowflake cards pictured below. She's a good friend, so I didn't want to charge her at all, but she insisted, so we worked out a swap instead for some scrappy supplies. She is so sweet,,,,,,,I can't think of a nicer compliment and she made my week!

Hope you enjoyed the baby card, and thanks for looking!
