I Think I'm Getting Sick of Christmas Cards LOL!

Good morning!

You may be happy to know, that YES, I am finally getting sick of Christmas cards,,,,,

I have two to show you today,,,,,,,

and at LEAST for a couple days,,,,,,I'm going to try and concentrate on fall cards LOL. For a few days. Hopefully. LOL.

The first is this pink, gray/silver and black card,,,,,,,,I'm not sure I like it,,,,,,,,but it's definitely a striking color combo,,,,

Card Recipe:

Papers: Recollections
Stamps: Justrite (snowman and sentiment), Inkadinkado (snowflakes)
Inks: Versafine Onyx black
Dies: Spellbinders classic large round, picot edge circles, and Cottage Cutz Tea time doily
Embossing folder: Cuttlebug
Ribbon: Really Reasonable Ribbon

My second card is this Poinsettia Card,,,,,,,,,,,again, not sure I like it, but the colors (more traditional) are pretty striking,,,,,,,

I absolutely love the focal point,,,,,,,,,it's striking. I should have used a different ink to stamp the sentiment on the DP though. Hmmmmmmmmmmm.

Here's a close up of that,,,,,,,,,you can see how I should have used something else,,,,,,,,,,,live and learn, I guess,,,,,,,

And this last pic is a close up of the Poinsettia and focal point,,,,,,,

I think that poinsettia is my favorite part of the whole card,,,,,,love that die!

Card Recipe:
Papers: K and Company scraps
dies: Spellbinders Ironwork Motifs, Parisian motifs, postage stamps, layered poinsettia
Ribbon: Really Reasonable Ribbon
Ink: Versafine
Stamps: Justrite Nested Christmas Sentiments

I hope you enjoyed this trip down Santa Claus Lane the past week or so,,,,,,,,,,

but fall is coming, and I must get my Thanksgiving cards started!!!!!! Thanks for looking, and please leave a comment, so I can find your blog!!!!!!

Have a lovely weekend! My husband and I are off to Disney World this weekend!

Just Rite Stamps and Things with Wings

Good Morning!

It's a gorgeous, hot, sunshiny day here in Central Florida,,,,,,,,,,and today, I'm showing you,,,,,,,,,,,,

you guessed it! More Christmas cards LOL

I am determined to get my cards done EARLY this year, so I can have some fun making some fabulous, fun gifts I've been pinning on Pinterest for days now!  I have some fun ideas I can't wait to share with you,,,,,,,,,,but I want my cards done FIRST!

It's been so long since I played along with the Justrite Stampers challenge, and so this week, I was determined to do it!

The theme this week is "Things with Wings",,,,,,,,,,,,and of course, with my current Christmassy mood,,,,,,,,I had to use one of my favorite Justrite sets,,,,,,,,,an oldie but a goodie,,,,,,Backyard Birds!

It was so much fun to create a gift set of a card AND an ornament to go with it,,,,,,,,I played with this image last week, creating a similar ornament, but for the challenge, I just knew I had to go one step further in the wow factor!

This cardinal is just so gorgeous for Christmas cards, I couldn't resist,,,,,,,,,,,,

and since Justrite stamps mix so well with each other,,,,,,,I paired it with the Justrite Merry Christmas background stamp!  I just LOVE how gorgeous this stamp looks all embossed in gorgeous glittering gold! So Christmassy!!!!!!!!

Here's a close up of the ornament,,,,

And a close up of the focal point on the card,,,,,,

You can really see that gorgeous embossing here in this pic!

Card Recipe:

Stamps: Justrite Backyard Birds and Merry Christmas Background Stamp
Ink and embossing: Momento black, copics. Recollections gold glitter embossing powder
Paper: Recollections red, cream and mirror gold card stock
Dies: Spellbinders Holly Motifs, 2010 Snowflake Pendants, 2010 Heirloom Ornaments, Lacy Ovals, Ovals Large
Ribbon: Really REasonable Ribbon
Pearls and Gems:REcollections

I have no idea yet who I'm giving this little set to,,,,,,,,but I do hope they like it!

Thanks for looking! I hope you enjoyed the set!

You still have a day or so to join in the Justrite Challenge,,,,,,,,so ink up those Justrite stamps and get to it!!!!!!!

Where the heck has she been??

And a good question it is too LOL

I am NEVER gone this long,,,,,,,,except when life takes some amazing turns,,,,,,,

First,,,,,,,

My very lovely, amazing daughter got married in June,,,,,,,,,

It was a lovely day,,,,,,,

if you like hurricane like rain. For an OUTDOOR wedding. sigh.  Still, we were under cover, and it was a lovely day,,,,,,,,,

and of course, I had to make all the decorations, invitations, programs, etc, for her "Evening in Paris" themed special day,,,,,,

Then we had to spend WEEKS searching for,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,this.

Because that lovely, amazing daughter slammed into our old pop up,,,,,,,,,,,and ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,let's just say it went to camper heaven.

so then, of course, we had to try it out,,,,,,,,,,,,at Hillsborough River State Park here in Florida,,,,,,

AND of course, I had to spend a LITTLE time pondering WHO in their STUPIDITY would MOLEST alligators??????????? But I'm sure someone has,,,,,hence the signs,,,,,,

Then I've spent the last week TRYING to get caught up on family stuff, housework, emails, Facebook, and friends who posted cards and projects online,,,,,,,,,,and I am STILL not caught up,,,,,I have a list as long as my arm to go through,,,,,,,,,

But,,,,,I did manage to spend a LITTLE time this week making some cards and Christmas/Hanukkah projects (because it will be here before you know it.)

sooooooooooooooo I'm back. Finally,,,,,,,,,,and I expect to be posting at least once a week. Please God. Let my life slow down a little LOL.

Thanks for all your emails, etc wondering if I was ok,,,,,,,,,,I'm fine. Just exhasted LOL.

Thanks for looking!!!!!!! I hope you enjoyed the pictures!!!!!!

SVGcuts.com Tea for You and Me!!

Good morning!

Well, have I had a month! And I see it's been that long since I've been here!

Not to write a novel or anything,,,,,,,,,,,but my youngest daughter has been engaged to marry her fiance now for over a year. They suddenly decided they wanted to get married BEFORE he goes into the service,,,,,,,,

in June.

faint.

I had literally 3 months to get this thing off the ground, and I was NOTHING but busy in April. Between finding and booking a venue, dress fittings, shopping for dresses for the girls, outfits for the men, shoe shopping, making invitations (yes, I made them,,,,,,,the base was a kit, but I remade the kit), place cards, programs, and a million other things,,,,,,,,,,,,,,whew!!!!

It will be lovely, however :)  She's getting married at a lovely outdoor venue amidst gorgeous, huge oak trees, in an "Evening in Paris" theme. By the time it's done, I'll be ready for a vacation LOL.

And, of course, I had major computer problems that didn't help. Sigh. JUST got those fixed,,,,,

I'm still going crazy, but I wanted to stop by and drop off a project I've made recently,,,,,,,

I have fallen in love with svgcuts.com. Their projects are just adorable,,,,,,,and so easy. Mary and Leo always provide a video that walks you through the complicated projects and makes them OH so easy!!

so without further ado,,,,,,,here's my project.

Here's the tea cup alone,,,
And the tea pot!
If you've never tried Svgcuts.com, you really should go over and take a look!  There's a project to suit any personality,,,,,,,,,they have so many awesome 3D kits,,,,,,and quite a few 2D kits for cardmaking and scrapbooking as well! All their files come zipped with several type files inside, SVG and GSD and others,,,,,if you have Make the Cut or SCAL2 or higher or Silhouette Designer Edition, you're good to go!

Project Recipe:

Papers: GA Pacific white card stock, Lost and Found Two, Blush, Sweet Bouquet
Dies and Cutting Files: SVGcuts.com Tea for You and Me kit, Teapot and Tea cup, and 3D flowers kit, Spellbinders spiral blossoms 1,
Inks: dollar spot pink ink for inking flower
Ribbon: Really Reasonable Ribbon
Glue: Martha Stewart Craft Glue, hot glue gun
embellishments: Jolee's 3D stickers, and my stash.

I hope you enjoyed my project, and thanks for looking!

Later this week, I have a free Silhouette file to hand out that will be WONDERFUL for the winter holidays that will be upon us before we know it, so keep tuned!

Have a Beary Happy Easter!!!

Good Afternoon!!!!

I have a challenge card today, using a new (to me) product! And boy did I have fun with it!!!!

Isn't that bear just the cutest thing???????  I loved it!  It's an SVG from Little Scraps of Heaven Designs!  They have the CUTEST stuff, and I just couldn't resist!!!!  She was standing, but she's quite poseable, and you can (with a bit of maneuvering) make her sit, stand, do splits, whatever!

Too stinkin cute!  I spent WAY too much money in their shop this week LOL.

Here's a close up of this darling bear!

I just had the BEST time shading her with chalks, doing the eyes and the cheeks,,,,,,,love her! And I love the bright springy colors too!!!!!!!

I'll be entering this into the Little Scraps of Heaven card sketch challenge! REally, you ought to give it a try,,,,paper piecing is easier than it looks (OK, so my first bear looked like a ninja bear because I put the eyes on wrong, but all t takes is a bit of practice LOL) and it's so much fun too!!!!

Card Recipe:

Paper: Graphic 45 Secret Garden 8x8 pack, Recollections
Die cuts: Little Scraps of Heaven Bear with Rough fur single, Spellbinders Labels 22, Die-namics Mini Royal Rolled Roses
Chalks and Inks: Pebbles, white Uniball, black artist pen .1, Versafine vintage sepia
Ribbon and lace: Really Reasonable Rbbon
button: Bazzill
Stamp: Michael's dollar bin.

Hope you love the card!  I'm so sorry I've not gotten around to any blogs this past week or two,,,,my youngest daughter is getting married in June,,,,,,,,I have three months to get this thing off the ground, and it's killing me LOL,,,,,,This week alone, we've chosen and deposited a venue for the wedding, chosen colors, invitations, flower girl dresses and today,,,,,,,,,,THE dress. Busy, busy, busy! But a fun time!

I promise I'll get around after Easter and Passover!!!!!!

May all my Christian friends have a lovely Easter,,,,,,,,,and may all my Jewish friends have an amazing Passover!!!!

I'm still having fun playing with my Silhouette,,,,,,and I haven't forgotten my beloved metal dies either,,,,,,,they really go so well together!!!!

Here's a little Christmas card I made mixing the two kinds of dies,,,,,,,

I tell you what, I just had the BEST time creating this card,,,,,,,so much fun!!!!  The window is a file I made myself (with a little help from some friends!)  I actually made 3 different window files, and you can pick them up at the bottom,,,,,,,,a picture window (or sliding glass door) pictured here,,,,,a regular window with flower box, similar to the Grand Madison Window, and a six paned door or tall window,,,,,,,

The Santa, tree, lamp, and children are all Silhouette Studio files,,,,,,,,,,and the snowflakes and pine branch are metal dies,,,,

It was just so much fun to make this little scene!

I am DETERMINED to be ready for the holidays this year,,,,,,,so stay tuned for some Chanukah cards as well!!!!!

Silhouette Silhouettes!!!!!!

Good Afternoon!!!!

I love silhouettes,,,,,,people,,,animals,,,,,things,,,,,

I love cutting them out of dark card stock and I often cut a bunch out of black card stock and then grab them when I want a quick card,,,,,,or a quick element to add to a card,,,,,,,

And NOTHING cuts silhouettes better than,,,,,,,,,,,well,,,,,,a Silhouette!!!!!

Today I have two cards to share,,,,easy, quick cards!

This first card is another Christmas card to add to my stash so I'll be ready for Christmas,,,,,,and it was OH so easy,,,,,,,,

I grabbed a couple silhouettes I had cut a day or two earlier and glued and pop dotted them down!  Piece of cake!  To make the snowy hills, I simply drew wavy lines in Studio and edited the points! Once cut, I embossed them with a polka dot embossing folder. Easy peasy!  I saved the file so I can cut them quickly,,,,,,,,,,and done up in blue paper, they'd make pretty water too!

Card Recipe:
Paper: MME Noel pack, Recollections
Die cuts: Silhouette America onine store and my own design
Ribbon: Really Reasonable Ribbon and Walmart
Pearls: Recollections
button: my stash

This second card was a bit more involved,,,,,but oh so much fun!

I just love the pop of apple green and the sparkly button!!!!

Card Recipe:
Papers: MME Lost and Found Two Rosy pack, Recollections, GA Pacific, Coordinations
Die Cuts: Silhouette America online store
Ribbon: Really Reasonable Ribbon

Probably the most clean and simple card,,,,,

You'll ever see me make LOL.

Mostly, I was playing around with making a studio file to share with a Dingbat font,,,,,,It turned out looking rather Oriental, so I went with it, and finished up the card with a Chinese Lantern,,,,,,

Card Recipe:

Paper: Recollections
Die Cuts: Silhouette online store (Chinese Lantern), Self made studio file (background), Silhouette for the ovals,,,,,,

and that's it,,,,,,,,an easy peasy card!!!!!!

I hope you enjoyed the card,,,,,,,and feel free to grab the studio file. You may use it for anything you'd like,,,,,,but please don't share,,,,,,send them here to get the file!  Thanks!

Here Comes Peter Cotton Tail,,,,,,,

Hopping down the bunny trail,,,,,,,,,,,

Hippity Hoppity Easter's on the way,,,,,,,,,,

Good morning!!!!

I can't believe how CLOSE Easter and Passover are coming!!!!! Before we know it, summer will be upon us!!!!!

Today, I have some fun little Egg shaped totes filled with some goodies to show you,,,,,,,,I made them for my grand children,,,,,just a little something,,,,,,

for obvious reasons, Easter isn't religious at our house, but my grand children are being raised in a Christian church, and so I like to give them a little something at Easter time,,,,,,

And boy did I have fun this year!!! My Silhouette was HUMMING,,,,,,,,

These darling totes are from the Silhouette online store, and much easier to put together than I ever thought!  This machine even makes perfect score lines to aid in folding and putting them together!!!!!! A bit of hot glue and some decorating, and they're done!!!!!!

Don't you just LOVE those Bunny Bums?  You can get them in the Silhouette store too!!!!

Inside each little tote is a small chocolate bunny, a chocolate carrot and some chocolate eggs! (Later I'll show you what I did with the jelly beans!)

There's also a darling card made out of a Silhouette cut (I flipped and welded the base to make a card) shaped like a chocolate bunny,,,,,,,,a pretty satin bow and a googly eye, and it's easy peasy to make! Inside the card is a bit of cash for my grand babies to spend,,,,,,,

Project Recipe:
Cardstock: GA Pacific and REcollections
Ink: Memento Summer Sky
Die Cuts: Silhouette Store
Ribbon: Really Reasonable Ribbon
Googly Eye and chocolates: Walmart

I hope you enjoyed the project today, and thanks for looking!!!!!

For My Sister,,,,,,,

Good morning!

I've had such a lovely time playing with my new Silhouette Portrait (Her name is Sophie),,,,,she cuts so amazingly clean it's,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,well, it's amazing!

This week, my sister is going through hell and back,,,,,,I'm down here in Florida,,,,,,,and she's 1200 miles away in New England,,,,,,,running over for coffee isn't an option,,,,,,,,

Sending a handmade card to tell her I love her and how amazing I think she is,,,,,,,,,well, it's second best :)

So here's the card I made for her,,,,,,,,

I can't believe how CLEAN this thing cuts!!!!!

Here's a close up of those intricate cuts!

I think my sister is amazing,,,,,,,,,she has many health problems that are life long,,,,,,and she still goes down kicking every night!  So, of course, I had to tell her,,,,,,,,,

Another amazing flourish from the Silhouette Store!!!!!! I just love how it dresses up the inside of my sister's card!

Silhouette Card

Well, I tell you what LOL,,,,,,,it was a longgggggggggg 24 hours waiting for Silhouette to get their server up and running LOL but I have to give props to them,,,,,,,,their Customer Service is fantastic!

They tried to help me, but they were still having SOME problems,,,,,,,,,and of course, they just happened to affect me,,,,,,,,,,,BUT they called me back (shock!!) when the problems were fixed and walked me through how to get all my images,,,,,,,,

then I had cutting problems ROFL.  A bad blade was partly to blame, so a trip to Michaels brought me a new blade,,,,,,,,

I do NOT like the Silhouette cutting mats,,,,,,,not not NOT,,,,,,,so a cut down Cricut mat works amazingly well,,,,,,,,

and VOILA,,,,,,,perfect, amazingly beautiful, highly detailed cuts!!!!!!!!

I'm in 7th heaven now that I've found my Silhouette's "sweet spot" (blade depth 3, speed 2 or 3 depending on intricacy, thickness 30),,,,,,,,

and I had the best time making this sweet little spring card today!!!

Hope you like it!

Card Recipe:

Paper: Coordinations smooth card stock, GA Pacific white cardstock
Stamps: NONE NONE NONE!!!!!!!
Diecuts: Silhouette Online Store except the bunny is a trace of a digi stamp
Flowers: REcollections

I am really loving my Silhouette today,,,,,I've cut some amazingly gorgeous die cuts I can't wait to use on my cards!

Thanks for looking, and I hope you have a lovely weekend!

Silhouette Woes,,,,,

Good Evening!

Well, I got my Silhouette a day early today,,,,,and I was so excited to start crafting, I got right on the site, bought a subscription (for 20 dollars a month, I get 150.00 worth of downloads---what a deal!) and bought 71 images,,,,,,,,

well Silhouette was doing some routine maintenance, and NOTHING would download properly,,,,,,,

GAAH! LOL,,,,,,so I managed to cut some freebies offline and make a card,,,but I have 71 designs that won't work in my silhouette. They show that they are there, although there's no picture like there should be,,,,,,,but they don't work.  So then I tried "recovering" them,,,,,,nope, didn't work either.

Time to call Customer Service in the morning LOL.  Let them deal with it :)

Anywho,,,,,,,my die cuts were limited today, so I whipped together a really simple card, just so I could play.  I hope you like it!

Card Recipe:

Paper: MME Lost and Found Two, Rosy Stack
Stamps: Justrite
Ink: Versafine black onyx, Tim Holtz Vintage Photo (inking edges of die cuts)
Dies: Silhouette
Punches: The Paper Studio tiny flowers punch
metal flower: Recollections

Thanks for looking,,,,,and I hope to have more die cuts to play with tomorrow!!!!!

Justrite Stamps Color Challenge!!!!

Good Evening,,,,,,,,

Sorry I haven't posted this week,,,,,,,,I made a few cards, but somehow lost my card reader,,,,,of course LOL.  So today, I gave up looking for it and just bought a new one,,,,,,,wow 8 whole bucks LOL. If I find the first one, it was worth the 8 bucks just for a spare.

Anywho,,,,,,,,,

Today I want to share a card I made for the Justrite Friday Challenge.  This week's challenge is a color challenge,,,,,,,,,,Yellow and greys aren't normally my go to colors,,,,,,,but I really love how this turned out!!!!!!

The lilies are hand made using McGill punches, molding mat, and molding tools,,,,,,,,,,,OH SO EASY to do!  The Stamps are, of course, Justrite Stampers,,,,I just love how the Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page set looks with the flowers and stamps!!!!

Here's a close up,,,,,,,

I hope you enjoyed the card,,,,,,,There's still a couple days to join in the fun over at Justrite Stampers, so run right over and upload your card or project using Justrite Stamps!

Card Recipe:

A Birthday Card and Some Praise!

Good Morning!

Today is a WONDERFUL day!!!!!!!!  My husband, who has worked 7 days a week, 12 hours a day for MONTHS, finally has a day off! We are off to Disney World to spend the day,,,,,,,,and we have reservations for dinner at one of the restaurants tonight! WOO HOO! I'm bouncing, I'm so happy!

I hope you're not sick of window cards LOL. I know that the Grand Madison Window die is extremely popular for a reason, and I've used it here again!  I have to say, that in googling this die to see what other people have done with it, I have especially enjoyed Kittie's cards  .  Although I did not directly copy any of her cards, her style has definitely STRONGLY inspired this card!  I surely hope she doesn't mind! Pop on over (link above) and see some of her gorgeous cards and leave some love while you're at it!

Here's mine!
]

You can probably tell by the shine, but I used an old spellbinders package cut to size to imitate the glass in the window,,,,,

I also created little hinges for the shutters, so they pop out a bit,,,,,,,,,and of course, a bow on my bow maker!  The garden fence is a die by memory box,,,,,,,I bought it some time ago, and had no clue what to do with it until I got this window die LOL

Card Recipe:
Papers:scraps (PP), Coordinations Cardstock
dies: Poppy Stamps Grand Madison Window die, Grand Madison Shutter die, Memory Box Wrought Iron gate, Spellbinders ribbon banners
punches: Martha Stewart Eyelet Lace Punch around the page set, The Paper Studio tiny flowers punch, Martha Stewart winter branch punch
Ribbon and Flowers: Michael's Brand

Now time for some praise!

I bought my Grand Calibur exactly a year ago,,,,,,I can't imagine life without it! I love it! Unfortunately,,,,,,JUST out of warranty, it died on me LOL. My kinda luck, right?  Well, I didn't want to buy a new one if I could help it, so I emailed Spellbinders to see if they offered a repair service.

Turns out, they do!  She asked me a few questions, to which I responded honestly,,,,,,and I told her I was out of warranty on the machine and did not mind paying for repairs!

She responded back that they would HONOR that warranty!  My machine will be fixed for free.

I have to say,,,,,,,,I was stunned. How often does a company, in the face of being honestly TOLD they are no longer responsible, CHOOSE to take responsibility?????? NEVER,,,,,,,,,except,,,,,,it has happened!

Fortunately, I have my old Big Kick, which I was able to get new plates for yesterday, to hold me over until my Grand Calibur is returned to me (free of charge!).

But in case you are contemplating a Grand Calibur,,,,,,,buy with confidence!  You won't be sorry!

I hope you enjoyed the card! Now I'm off to Disney World to enjoy the world!!!!!!  Have a lovely Sunday!  And thanks so much for your comments!

Sympathy with Just Rite

Good Morning!

I hate to make sympathy cards,,,,,,,I like knowing that my loved one will receive a handmade card from me at a difficult moment,,,,,but I dislike what they stand for. sigh.

Unfortunately, there's been a death in the family of a dear friend. Sympathy card called for. Since I enjoyed the sketch this month over at the Justrite Friday Challenge  , I decided to go with that for my card.

Here's the sketch that we were to follow this challenge!

Here's my rendition of this great sketch.

I used the little bird house made from Squares Large as my focal point,,,,,,a border punch and lace as my scallop layer,,,,,,,,and a leafy branch cradling my sentiment as my banner. I tried to recreate the peaceful feeling of a birdhouse cradled in the branches of a tree for this card. I hope it brings some peace to my friend and her family.

I used a fabulous Justrite set called "Be Strong". It's so appropriate to so many situations and has several phrases of comfort in cases of illness and/or death,,,,,,,,as well as several support ribbons and frames.  I've used a phrase and a frame from that set.  Here's the stamp and the little bird house close up.

You can see the intricate frame that I've stamped on the green paper and cut out with Lacy Ovals. It's gorgeous!

Here's a pic of the little bird I fussy cut from the fabulous Webster's Papers digi papers,,,,,,,,

can you see the shimmer on that gorgeous ribbon? It's the Silky Crush Ribbon from May Arts bought from Really Reasonable Ribbon!  It's gorgeous,,,,,,,,,,silky, shimmery, and oh so soft! It makes fabulous bows! And it's OH SO reasonable!!!!!

Card Recipe:
Papers: Websters Papers Digi papers, Coordinations,
Stamps: Justrite "Be Strong" set
Ink: Versafine Sepia
dies: Spellbinders Squares Large, Lacy Ovals, Classic Ovals Large (some oldies but goodies!) and Foliage.
Lace and Ribbon: Really Reasonable Ribbon
Punches: EK Success Threading Water Border punch
buttons: Recollections

I hope you enjoyed the card,,,,,,,thanks for looking! You still have a few days to join the fun over at Justrite! (Link at the top!) So run on over there and link up your rendition of the sketch using Justrite Stamps!
