Party Time Tuesday 61!!!!!!!!
Good morning!!!!!!
This week over at Party Time Tuesdays, we continue with our wonderful monthly sponsors Robin's Nest, who supplied the gorgeous papers and dew drops to the design team, and also Spech stamps, which some of our DT will be showcasing today,,,,,
We also welcome sponsors K 'n K Designs (who provided MY digi today!), the Ribbon Carousel, and last, but not least, Crafty Sentiments! Thanks so much to all our wonderful sponsors who make this possible!
Now, on to my card with the gorgeous papers from Robin's Nest and the adorable digi from K n K Designs!
Because this week the challenge at PTT is ANYTHING GOES!!!!!!!!!!!! Yep, anything and everything your amazing little brains can think of are a go!
I colored my darling stamp with copics and cut it out with Circles large, layering onto Labels 3
I cut out the LOVE with Rectangles Long and then hand cut two flowers (one smaller and one larger) from the adorable paper provided by Robin's Nest, adding dew drops to the centers of the flowers and the bottom right of the card for a bit more sparkle.
And it's the PERFECT card for a friend of mine who loves animals!
So run right over to Party Time Tuesdays and load up your Anything Goes card! Please be aware, however, that as much as we'd LIKE to, we simply can not comment on any entries during our ATG challenge. There are just simply TOO MANY entries, and it wouldn't be fair to comment on some and not others.
I can't WAIT to see them, however, and I DO look!

Home Sick Cards,,,,,
Good Afternoon,,,,,it's Sunday,,,,,,,,and I'm homesick.
Yep. Badly too.
Sunday was the day our whole family got together for dinner,,,,if there was a birthday, that's when it was celebrated. Everyone would bring something,,,,,on a rotating basis,,,,,,main dinner, side dishes, deserts, drinks, whatever,,,,,,we rotated. And we all met at my sister's house (hers was largest) and had dinner.
Ten years ago, My husband and I moved ourselves and our 3 children to Florida. The housing in Massachusetts where we lived was astronomically expensive IF you could find it. We searched for months after the owner of the house we were renting sold it. Couldn't find a bleeping house, townhouse, apartment or mobile home. There was a serious shortage of housing. My husband's boss asked his wife (a real estate agent) to look,,,,,,MY boss who owned a ton of rental housing looked. NOTHING.
So we moved,,,,,,,,what could be more fun than living in Florida? Close to the beaches, close to Disney World,,,,,,,we moved and we LOVE it.
I couldn't get my husband to move back for anything, even though the housing has improved.
Nope, we love love LOVE living in Florida.
But I miss my family and my friends like no one's business. Oh my mom comes down usually once a year for 2 or 3 weeks, and I love having her. Last time she brought my baby sister and her new son down, which was really nice. I've been home once or twice.
But I haven't seen everyone TOGETHER in ten years.
I miss my sisters, I miss my brother, I miss my nieces and nephews,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
I just miss them. Enough to cry. It's not all bad,,,,,,,,all my children and grandchildren live here in Florida,,,,,,and I see my mom at least once a year. And the beach and Disney are as wonderful as we thought.
But I want to go home. Badly. At least for 2 weeks.
so we're planning that :) And I couldn't be happier.
Anyway, after that book you are probably wondering what on EARTH was the point of,,,,,,
I had to make cards for my family,,,,,,,,and I am thinking of them as "homesick cards". Because I am. Homesick, that is.
I used my new paper, Echo Park. The two red ones are Echo Park This and That "Graceful", and the yellow and green one is Echo Park This and That "Charming". Each one was made special for the recipient,,,,
Top, red pink and blue is for my Mother.
bottom left, for my sister, Ellen,,,,,,,and bottom right, for my sister, Amy.
Brother's and friends to follow another day.
I used quite a few nesties,,,,,,,but one of my fav new ones that I used on all 3 of them is Spellbinders Picot Edge circles. REally lovely,,,,,,they can be very feminine,,,,,or not. Love them.
Other nesties used:
lacy ovals
postage stamps
moroccan motifs
circles large
Ironwork Motifs.
Labels 23 Grand
and of course, Picot Edge circles
I didn't embellish too much more than the nesties shapes and a ribbon or bow,,,,the paper is so gorgeous. I added a couple stick pins and called them done!
Thanks for looking,,,,,,I hope you enjoyed the cards! And I hope you don't have reason to be homesick too often!!!!

Sugar Creek Hollow!!!
YAY, it's Saturday!!!! And I really can't wait to see what you all come up with this week, because we have a challenge at Sugar Creek Hollow that was TOUGH for me! BUT many of you like it, so I am hoping to see some wonderful examples of,,,,,,,,,,,
STEAMPUNK!!!!!!!!
Here's mine! And I want to KISS Pamela over at Freevintagedigistamps.blogspot.com (button to the right) because she saved my LIFE with these images that I used on my card! ALL of them were from her! THANKS PAMELA!
I used MME paper for this, simply because it seemed to match SO WELL. I printed the images on my computer, and cut them with squares large, postage stamps and labels 3,,,,,inked them all up well and matted the whole thing on a black base. I cut the watch with an old spellbinders set, Heritage,,,,,,,,a black velvet ribbon and knot,,,,,,,and she's done! I am really happy with the way it turned out!!!
So let's see what you can come up with! Run right over to SCH and load up a Steampunk card!
Thanks for looking!!!!! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Babies, babies, babies!
So, as I mentioned the other day, I had finished my baby girl project for MHM monday challenge,,,
and unfortunately, my camera was on the blink, and I didn't get it posted in time. Well I worked so hard on the dang thing, it wasn't going unposted LOL
so here it is,,,,,,,,too late for the challenge, but still fun to make and keep for the next baby girl shower I go to!
I used DCWV's preppy princess stack, spellbinders nested crowns and nested hearts to make this,,,,,,,ad of course, a House Mouse stamp! I just love this little stamp of a mousie yawning,,,,,,,one of my favs, in fact, and it's just darling for many projects. And this time I've made a door hanger (which I will personalize with baby's name "is sleeping" when I know the baby's name),,,,,,,,and a little matching tag to go on the bag! Tons of lace and a bit of pearls for sparkle.
Thanks for looking! Hope you all are having the most amazing week!

52 Christmas Card Throwdown!
Boy oh boy have I been busy!!!!! And I'm going to be busier still next week! But TODAY I have a bit of time, so I decided to go ahead and make a card for the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown challenge! I have really MISSED that challenge!
It's been at least a month and a half since I've been able to do the challenge,,,,,,at least ON TIME to post it LOL. I have continued to at least make one card a week though, most weeks, which is good. I don't want to go crazy in November making Christmas cards!
This week is a theme challenge,,,,,,and Jacqueline and Mynnette have set "Christmas Animals or Birds" as the theme.
I love love LOVE this little dove in the Justrite set! there are interchangeable borders too, which I love,,,,,
so without further ado, here's my card, using my BRAND new nesties,,,,,Ironwork motifs,,,,,,
oh boy are these things GORGEOUS. They are VERY intricate, so I recommend using waxed paper between the die and the paper for easy removal,,,,,
but the detail embossing is fantastic!
I used total scraps for this card, and I believe they are Recollections Christmas line,,,,,YAY! I love using scraps now that my scraps are so well organized!
Here's a close up of the focal point snow flake,,,,,,
Here are the dies I used for the focal point!
Spellbinders 2010 Snow flake pendants
Largest Ironwork motifs
medium ironwork motifs
Lacy Ovals
straight Ironwork motifs
and circles large was used to cut out the stamp.
A green velvet ribbon, a triple bow of white and read and a few pearls, a Tim Holtz snowflake embossing folder, and she's done! Of course, I colored the stamp with copics.
I left it a bit simple, due to the complexity of the snow flake. I really wanted that to shine!
I hope you enjoyed the card, I do appreciate you looking,,,,,,,run right over to 52 Christmas Card Throwdown and load up your Christmas animal or bird card, and get your Christmas cards done by November! I've linked you at the top to make it easy for you!

Happy Thursday!!!!!
Just another day til the weekend is here! I'm looking forward to Saturday, as we are taking DH to dinner and Disney World for his birthday (which is friday). In the meantime, my WONDERFUL DH bought me this AMAZING die! Seriously, it's to DIE for hahah! OK, bad joke!
This die, the Heart Felt Creations decorative lace border die made by spellbinders, cuts amazing detail and is really easy to get out of the die, which surprised me! I used wax paper first, and I've not had a problem since!
I can see tons of uses for this die!
well, of COURSE I had to make a card with it! Since I needed sympathy cards, I made one,,,,,,and I used 3 layers of this die cut,
and another angle,,,,,,,you can see that I cut another diecut of this lace to put INSIDE the card, cutting off most of the die cut to use just a portion,,,,,,,another reason this die is so versitile,
I wanted to make the card reasonably simple, so I made a simple black rose with my spellbinders spiral floral 1 and my spellbinders Rose Creations, and added a black velvet ribbon, a pearl stick pin and some flat back pearls,,,,and DONE.
Hope you enjoyed the card and thanks for looking!

The Shabby Tea Room,,,,
I'm not sure SHABBY is really my forte LOL. But, the Shabby Tea Room is having a color challenge. Additionally, they want to see pennants, banners or flags on cards. Since I came across these papers with the colors (pink, aqua, red) in my Prima papers, I decided to give it a shot. It's a style I love,,,,,,,,and I suppose I just need more practice, LOL, but I never seem to quite get the shabbiness I want.
Anywho, it was fun to play!
Here's my card,,,,,,,,
I hand cut the pennants out of 2 inch wide paper, simply marking the center and cutting out a point. I used my brand new Grand labels 23 nesties to make a shaped card, layering on the Madeline Prima paper. I made the two roses out of spellbinders spiral blooms 1 and nested those in the two largest petals of the Rose Creations dies. I tipped here and there with pink crackle paint on the roses and also the papers and added a red and white checked border to the tops of the banners and red and white checked bows to the corners,,,,,,,a few buttons, some aqua netting and she's done!
I hope you enjoyed the card, as bad as it is LOL. And I hope it gives everyone everywhere who is bad at ANY style some hope!
Practice makes perfect!!!!!!

Thank you, Thank you!
This is my second post of the day! If you're looking for my PTT post, scroll down one post!
So we had a TON of birthdays in March in our family,,,,,,,three out of the four people living in this house right now, have birthdays in March,,,,,,2 of us on the 9th, and one of us this next Friday, the 23rd.
Birthdays mean presents, and presents mean thank you cards to our relatives who were kind enough to send gifts and money presents! My MIL and mother gave me $$$$$ and so I was able to buy several sets of nesties and my FIRST grand nestie (Labels 23) which I am DYING to get,,,,,,it's taking forever to get here LOL
Anywho, I made up some thank you cards, and I thought I'd just post them all here in one post :)
I had a ton of fun playing with my new spellbinders Romantic Rectangles, and another of my favs Parisian motifs. I also used some of the very first tools I ever bought, some flower punches, that have been sitting neglected in my cupboard to make some of the flowers. I am REALLY happy the way they turned out, after shaping with a ball stylus and glittering!
Here's a close up!
The butterflies are MS, and the leaves are all Spellbinders foliage.
Thanks for looking, and I hope you're having a wonderful week!

The very wonderful Robins Nest sent us some gorgeous papers and dew drops to work with, and so I made my card using those!
I used this adorable animal print paper by Robins Nest, which gave me the idea for my sentiment "Wild Thing". My image is Beach Babe Granny by Digi 4 Joy,,,,,,isn't it adorable???
I wanted to reflect the beach theme, and so I put a strip of blue paper at the bottom,,,,,,,,and a big orange sun at the top with the rays of the sun made with my dew drops from Robin's Nest.
Here's the inside of my card,,,,,
I hope you enjoyed the card,,,,,,and thanks to all our wonderful sponsors over at Party Time Tuesdays this week,,,,,,and our monthly sponsors for the month of March! We are so enjoying their products!

Bright and Cheery!
Good morning! Really bright colors aren't normally my thing,,,,,although I find myself drawn more and more to them lately!
I am fixing to order me some of the Echo Park Country Drive paper that I really have fallen in love with! And that has some lovely bright colors!
Anywho, looking at that online got me in the mood, so here's a bright card,,,,,
The paper is about 3 years old LOL. It's Making Memories paper I've had in my stash since FOREVER. I'm pretty sure it's the FIRST stack I ever bought.
The roses were an experiment that I really like the result of. I rolled one of Spellbinders spiral blossom 1, and then nested THAT inside two of the largest petals of Spellbinders Rose Creations after shaping them with a ball stylus. I then took a third set of petals and cut them off their base, and stuck the petals kind of willy nilly into the extra 2 sets of petals, if that made any sense. It gave me a nice LARGE full rose, and I really like the effect! I did the same for the yellow rose, although I cut off part of the spiral before rolling, wanting a smaller full rose.
I've used my brand new spellbinders dies, Romantic Rectangles, and OH MY GOSH, I love them,,,,,they are HUGE and the largest is the perfect size for this 5x7 card. Easy peasy!
Thanks for looking and have a wonderful week!

Baby OH Baby!!!!
I am so in the baby mood right now! Don't ask me why, I do not have a new grand child on the way, there WAS a challenge to make something pink and baby over at HMF, but I MISSED posting because my camera was on the fritz sigh.
I'll post that project another day.
Today, I have some cards and a project using my NEW Graphic 45 Little Darlings paper. This paper is OH SO lucious and gorgeous, I just HAD to make some things.
So I started with this sweet little baby girl card,,,,,,,
I tell you, this paper is too darling! I used circles large, lacey ovals. spiral blossoms 1 and banner basics 1 to create this card. Easy peasy.
But that wasn't enough baby for me!
so I made this!
They are not intended as a set. If there were a set, I'd have inked both and used the same ribbon. They COULD make a lovely set,,,,,,,but the altered altoids tin is for my sister to put her baby's first year pics in (he turns 1 next month) and the other is simply a card to have in my stash.
Here's the inside of the tin!
And here's the little mini book open (untie the bow)
I started her off with one pic, but she can fill up the rest of it! Isn't my Nephew Robbie just adorable? I wanna smooch his little cheeks!
Thanks for looking, I should be posting a bit more now that my camera is fixed!
Have a lovely rest-of-the-weekend!

Sugar Creek Hollow!!!!
YAY for Saturdays, one of my favorite days of the week!! This week over at Sugar Creek Hollow, we want to see LAYERS in a vintage, shabby chic or primative style!
Robyn's Fetish sponsored us this week, and she gave the DT images to work with. Isn't this primitive bear just ADORABLE? Thanks so much for the beautiful image!
I've colored him with copics and used MME Union Station paper to accentuate the card. As you can see, I have several layers,,,,,
card base
2 papers on top of the base
the bear which I've popped up with pop dots
2 hearts
twine
baker's twine
and a button
I also used stamps from Stampin D'Amour for the banner and Happy Birthday on top!
I just love how it turned out. Primitive cards are so hard for me, but this little bear just gave me the push I needed! So hop on over to Sugar Creek Hollow and link up a layered card in one of those three styles!
Thanks for looking, and I hope you enjoyed the card!

PTT 59!!!! Monochromatic!!!!!
Good Morning and HAPPY TUESDAY!!!!!!!! Today over at Party Time Tuesdays the theme is "Monochromatic cards",,,,,
We're being sponsored by the fantabulous Robin's Nest again, the Stamping Boutique and Spesch Stamps, who provided this adorable Alice stamp I'm working with today!
Isn't she darling???? I just loved working with her! Since I had this gorgeous pink paper from Robin's Nest, I decided to go with pinks,,,,,,,I colored Alice with copics and cut her out with Labels 4, layering onto another bright pink paper from Robin's Nest. I hand made and glittered the pink lily and highlighted the center and the edge punch with Robin's Nest Dew Drops,,,,,,,a quad bow of hand died seam binding,,,,,,,,a Just Rite sentiment stamped in pink, some pink die cut and glittered branches from Spellbinders Floral dies,,,,,,,,and a feather I died pink with misting spray,,,,,,,,and she's finished.
How darling for my little 5 year old grand daughter who absolutely LOVES Alice????? I'm going to pop this in the mail to her with a little surprise inside,,,,,,,,,,just because I love her!
Thanks so much to our wonderful, generous sponsors,,,,,,,,I had so much fun making this card with beautiful papers, shiny dew drops and this adorable stamp!!!!!
Thanks for looking, and I hope you enjoyed the card! Run right over to PTT and upload your monochromatic card,,,the link is above,,,,,,,,,and see what gorgeousness the other Party Planners have for you to be inspired by!

Sugar Creek Hollow Again!
Good Morning! I hope you're all ready for some amazing inspiration from the Sugar Creek Hollow team! This week's challenge is Monochromatic Green!
Well, sometimes I just don't FEEL like making a card,,,,,and this week was one of those! So I dug through my scraps and found a piece of 4.5x5 leftover piece of chipboard, and decided to make myself a hanging plaque for my scrappy room.
I covered the chipboard in scrap paper, used a MS deep edge "fan" punch to add some interest, and a bit of lace along the bottom. Then I punched holes in the top and strung some green ribbon through. My center focal point is made from nesties,,,,,,,,from the bottom up, 2 layers of Moroccan Motifs, a smaller Moroccan motif, lacey ovals and then finally ovals to cut out the image. It's gorgeous, and SOOOOOOOOOOO vintage with the gorgeous dress and basque the lady is wearing. Too scrumptious! I put a small layered crown on the side, a big quad bow and a stick pin,,,,and then added a few clear gems just for a bit of sparkle. It's hanging in my scrap room as we speak!
Here's a close up of all the layers!
I hope you enjoyed the project this week,,,,,,be sure to head over to Sugar Creek Hollow and link up your monochromatic GREEN project!!!! And while you're there, take a look at the Design Team's inspiration for the week! You won't be sorry you did!
Thanks for looking, I really appreciate it!

The Men in my life,,,,
This is my second post for the day,,,,,,,,please scroll down for my Party Time Tuesday DT post!
so almost 24 years ago, on my 23 birthday, I gave birth to one of the most important men in my life,,,,,my darling son, of whom I am SO PROUD. He dropped out of high school, and then went back a few years later, to get his HS degree, then went on to college and is graduating in June (but finishing in 2 weeks!) number one in his class!
He will be 24 this friday, and I wanted to make him a very special birthday card to let him know how very proud of him I am.
One of the OTHER most important men in my life is my husband, Jaime, whom I love more than you can imagine. It seems to me that whatever I have wanted to do in my life, he has only asked what he could do to make it happen. Not everyone receives such wonderful support,,,and I love him very much for all that and more. He celebrates his 53rd birthday in two weeks.
Obviously,,,,,,,I had some cards to make! My sweet husband went out and bought me the Spellbinders Grand Calibur yesterday,,,,,,I got it early, because we are all going to Disney World together on Friday to celebrate, and there's no way to carry one of those around to give at the dinner celebration LOL. so Lucky ME!!! I got to play with it yesterday! And so, I made some birthday cards using all my new dies too!
The black and white one is for my DH and the blue and cream with a touch of black is for my DS. Both of them use the new Moroccan Motifs dies and the nested hearts dies,,,,,,,
My husband's (black and white) center focal point is made from the following dies, bottom to top
postage stamps
Parisian Motifs
Moroccan Motifs
and 2 layers of nested hearts, the last layer inked with black while still in the die
My son's is a bit simpler,,,,
2 layers of the largest Moroccan Motifs
1 layer of the smaller moroccan motifs in black
2 layers of nested crowns.
And let me tell you, the difference in embossing with the Grand Calibur is amazing! I had previously made the center piece for the blue card,,,,,it was just sitting waiting to be attached to a card,,,,,,but I had not previously made the focal point for the black and white card,,,,,,,and the difference in the embossing is amazing. That Grand Calibur was surely worth the money spent!
Maybe you can tell the difference in the close ups of each card!
Thanks for looking, and I hope you enjoyed the cards!!

Oh my goodness!!!
Have I been crazy busy this week!!! After not working for months, but having some 15 years in the travel industry, I decided to branch out on my own and start my own online travel business,,,,,between advertising, the legal details, reservations etc, I've been working 7 days a week! I've been CRAZY!!!!!!!!! PLUS my DTs,,,,,,,my head is spinning!
I did (barely) find the time to CASE this gorgeous card by Sasha found HERE!
Isn't it beautiful??
Here's mine!
It's not exact,,but it's quite similar,,,,,,,,
just plain blue and white cs, a MS border punch, some lace, some black velvet ribbon and a bow,,,,,,a few buttons and a Just Rite stamp mounted on Parisian motifs, and it was super simple, fresh and pretty to put together!
Thank you so much, Sasha, for allowing me to CASE this gorgeous card! I just loved yours, and had to make one!
Pop on over to Sasha's blog and see how gorgeous hers is!! It was truly inspirational!
Thanks for looking, and I hope to find more time to blog now that most of the legalities of my travel agency are handled!!!! I'm so very lucky and blessed to have the backing of a standard in the industry, CruiseBrothers. It makes it SO much easier to get bonded, insured, etc :)
I hope to get over to y'all's blogs this week!!!! sorry I am behind!
Have a great week!

Shabby Chic Altered Tin and an announcement!
Good morning!!! I have the most exciting news!!!!!!
Are you ready for this? I have the distinct honor of being one of the DT members for Sugar Creek Hollow,,,,,,,,one of my absolute FAVORITE challenges in the whole of blog-land!!!!!!!
I may or may not have danced around the kitchen like a mad person when I was asked LOL.
AND this week's challenge is one of my FAVORITES that they do too! WOO HOOO off to a good start!
Trash to Treasure is this week's theme! Take something that would ordinarily head to the trash or the recycle bin, and make vintage/shabby chic/ or primitive TREASURE with it! Although you may USE scraps, they can not count for your "trash", so go get crafty with it and make something GORGEOUS.
Without further ado,,,,,,,,,,here is my "trash"! It's a cookie tin, the tall skinny kind.
I have been wanting to make something with this tin for weeks now! And I was so THRILLED that I get to use it for my first DT project with Sugar Creek Hollow!
Here's the front,,,,,
Here's the back,,,,,,,,,,
I covered the tin with this gorgeous pink, pearlescent paper from DCWV's Luxury Stack,,,,,,it's stunning. I found the vintage ballerinas on the Graphics Fairy, button to the right,,,,,,,,,,aren't they GORGEOUS? I just LOVE them,,,,,,I actually used the same prints for another project about a year ago, but they seemed so perfect for this project, I couldn't resist them.
I cut each of the prints out with Ovals large, and then matted with more pink DCWV Luxury Stack paper which I cut out with Lacey Ovals. I adhered beautiful white eyelet lace around the bottom and layered a string of pearls around that,,,,,,,,and trimmed the rim of the lid with 1/4 inch velvet ribbon. I covered the lid with more pink paper and then a gorgeous rose vintage image was adhered on top.
I cut several heart locks out with my big shot (spellbinders Heritage dies), glued them together for thickness and then painted the whole with TH crackle medium,,,,,,a bit of white paint and a center pearl to look shabby chic, and I hung that on a silky ribbon with a gold key. A gorgeous bow with both pink and white sheer ribbon, a flower and some looped pearls, a vintage rose ticket, and she's done!
Here's a close up of the heart, key and bow,,,,
We at Sugar Creek Hollow would also like to welcome Sherri Willshire as guest designer!!!!! Click on the link to see her phenomenal stuff! Thanks so much, Sherri!
I hope you enjoyed the altered tin, thanks so much for looking, and be sure to go dig through your recycle bin and get crafty!!!!!!!
